Yeah, I agree. We lost 2 bigs and have three coming in. One of those is a zero star freshman that will likely redshirt. We gain a freshman that redshirted. Neither of the two big men are going to replace Aly as far as running the offense. If we sign this another guy like we all expect, unless he is the second coming we are no better off than we were this past season. I think we are worse.
We are just trying to get back what we lost here. We aren’t getting better.
I love the low expectations. Every year I give myself false hope. Not this year which gives me great optimism.
If not a great year next year, perhaps Mike already has his guy that has not been available until next year for one of many possible reasons.
The delay in change could be due multiple reasons. Don’t under value our transtion to the AAC.
Let’s trust and see what happens. Mike still has my confidence.

We’ll find out in November how the new guys fit in. Other than Memphis, basically nothing special about the recruiting hauls of our respective AAC conference mates. Of course, FAU got it done this past season with mostly a bunch of zero stars, so rankings can be deceiving.
At our level seems you either need to have great talent to overcome poor to mediocre coaching or great coaching to overcome talent deficiency. If you have both talent (recruiting) and coaching - that coach is probably not going to be at the G5 level long.
I don’t think many of us think Ron elevated above our talent level the last 2 years so I dont think we are going to win things based on coaching and the talent we have I don’t think is going to scare anyone or take us above our coaching.
Looks like poor to mediocre is the expected ceiling for most of us - likely dependent on the schedule makeup.
If we can pull that off with the next hire I’m all for it.
That means we had a good year or two!
Then try to do it again.
Interesting how height fluctuates - Young listed as 6-3 during his senior year at Miami Prep. (Of course, Niners guilty of fudging numbers with the 6-8+ Martin Iti being the most notorious example of “stretching” the figures!)
