Clemson Fan who attended the game here...

Hey yall,

Great game on Saturday. I’ve been reading your board for about a week now and I have a few things to say.

 1. Nice Arena! It was packed and loud! I was impressed by the intensity in the fans, students and players. I noticed how half the stadium was students and they are given the best seats in the house along the bench. At Clemson, we for some reason stick our students behind the goals and the upper decks. Purnell may be changing the way our team performs, but our fans (and even season ticket holders!) need to start changing their ways and show up for the games.

 2. Every team has fans who are absolute jerks, Saturday was no exception. One of your students came up to us and said “Wait till Carolina gets through with you!”.

 3. Home-and-Home. I don’t think it’s going to happen and I don’t think it should (from Clemson’s standpoint). Looking at it from a neutral standpoint, Clemson has everything to lose in this game, and yall have everything to gain. Look at your victory last year, many of yall have noted that the victory helped jump start the season. It was huge for yall, while for us we were just coming off a heart breaking 2OT loss to UNC at our house. So we each had our sights set at different levels. Thats how we got beat.

BUT, if yall wanted to do a neutral site game, 1/2 and 1/2 fans at the bobcats arena, (like Clemson did for Bama in football at the GA Dome this year) I’d be all for that. Since Clemson is not (yet) a juggernaut in the ACC where the schedule won’t look daunting, I think we’ll see more Charlotte-Clemson games in the future, but more as occasionally than regularly.

 1. When yall get a football team, come play at Clemson. Our tailgating experience and hospitality toward other fans (UGA and USC excluded) is second to none. Plus it’d be nice to get out the Furman-Wofford-Citadel rotation we seem to be stuck in.

Overall it was a nerve-racking and intense game. I’m glad we pulled out a win and now I understand why no ACC team wants to play there.

Go Tigers!

WOW!! Just WOW! Somebody else take it . I am too tired. Passive aggressive b*tch slaps on message boards are just gay.

99.9% of this board probably wants to hit this kid in the face more than you did.

Yeah we just came off of a 2OT loss to App State a few days before, that’s how we let you guys squeak by on Saturday night.

5 yrs ago, I’d go postal on this

right now, its true

We are in the ACC so we are better than anyone not in the ACC… blah blah blah… we’ve heard it before.

So many things could be said here, but its a holiday week, and I have a lot of work to get done before leaving Wednesday at lunch. I’m gonna defer to someone else.

yep, Saturday proved what many of us old-timers have known for years.

I can’t say thats the same situation. Saturday was one of your biggest games this season. Now after such a close loss, imagine if you go out to California for your tournament and just come out looking flat and deflated in your first game.

I’m in no way saying that the UNC loss CAUSED us to lose to yall. But basketball is a mental and physical game. Yall were ready and hungry for us last year and we weren’t. Consider on top of that your skill level and depth was equal to us last year. Basketball is decided by who wants it more. Last year yall wanted it BAD and we didn’t.

Seroious question? Who has more delusional fans…Clemson or NC State and who throws more money away/at them to feed this delusion?

I would say we were fairly equal again this year, considering it was a 1 pt game.

How is an unranked Clemson game the biggest? We play ranked teams this year. Our next game is Arizona State…

We have more history and more success in basketball than your school. Get a clue. You lost last year because you weren’t as good of a team.

I wish I was as delusional as this guy. I hear ignorance is bliss.

Get 'em Eason.

Clemson- State has two national titles- and probably the greatest player in College BBall history-

what I can’t stand about the post is “We have everything to lose an you guys have everything to gain”- that may be true for this one year but people dont realize we made it to th final four, we made the big dance several years in a row, we beat ranked teams (including Clemson) I love being a niner fan but I find unlimited frustration in other’s ignorance

And screw the guy who made the UNC remark- hope you beat their @$$

I agree

So seriously, what do yall want me to say regarding the game last year? I know we lost and I know we looked flat in that loss. Yall came ready to play and it took to us in our own house. What else do you want to hear? I want to talk about the game from Saturday.

UNC fans might get on here and talk trash, but I’m here to talk X’s and O’s and my experience at the game. Sheesh!

This is why I miss having other teams’ fans on our board.

Nobody circles the wagons like NN.

you should just stop now… you aren’t doing yourself any favors

Definitely the only person here who wants to do that.
I’m here to talk X’s and O’s and my experience at the game. Sheesh!
Question.

Per the stats. both teams sucked at the FT line.

We have a history of not being very good at the line. We’ve had a few exceptions over the years, but not enough. Strange thing was we started the season very well (89% in 1st two games) before the bottom fell out on Saturday.

What 'bout you people?
I want to talk about the game from Saturday.
We missed a ton of free throws, didnt pass the ball well and took a handful of ill advised shots, any one of which caused the loss.

I’m in no way slighting Charlotte. It’s a respectable program and a win against yall looks good come Selection Sunday. And a loss looks equally as bad on our resume.

I admit not know the full history of Charlotte basketball, but I in no way ever thought yall were some B-grade small school just out to knock off a few giants. I knew this game would be tough and a lot of Clemson people wonder if playing OOC games like this are a necessity to do well in the ACC and make the tourney.
