What immediately popped into my mind when reading this article is that this dipshit is 26 years old. Take some responsibility in your life and be a grown up. You messed up, pay the consequences. I hate parking services as much as the next person but the established rules are clear.

That’s an alarmingly naive thought process to hold on to. Sure, it’s just a parking ticket, but that pervasive mentality allows lots of atrocities to be committed because they were following the rules.

In the comments of the article, someone stated in their town if you pay in pennies, you have to go to the waiting room, someone comes to count your pennies when it’s slow. If it gets busy, or that person has a break or lunch, you have to wait, & that person comes back later to start all over. And if it hits 5:00, you’re screwed, come back tomorrow. That’s what I’d have done to this guy if I worked in Parking Collections.

I protested an outstanding ticket by proving that I was nowhere near campus on the day in question and that I didn’t even own the type of vehicle that they ticketed. ???

I received a parking ticket while at a baseball game 5 or 6 years ago. I called the school and told them 49Alumnus had borrowed my car that day. I haven’t heard anything else about the ticket.

It turned out that the student they were ticketing and I had the same last name. I worked for the university at the time and was out of town on university business. They realized the error of their ways…eventually.
