I will just never understand this. This is cheating while on probation. This is MAJOR infractions while under penalty. NCAA rules state that this is deserving of the death penalty. They will probably get another year of no bowl, which they weren’t going to make anyway.
This news is quite shocking. 
Will these latest findings be deserving of Round 2 of NCAA punishments, or will this be considered fallout from Round 1?

Of course everyone knows that Chapel Hill has maintained for years that they were above all the dirty aspects of big time sports and now that they have been revealed to be what they are, they fall back on the excuse that “everyone does it”. Maybe everyone does look for every advantage they can. That isn’t so much the problem and will always be the case to some extent. Chapel Hill’s problem (and Penn St. as well) was projecting an image that no institution could live up to in the first place. I can only hope that Charlotte will learn from the mistakes of others and will own up to our imperfections when they occur. Manure stinks no matter the source and eventually the smell becomes too noticeable to ignore.
Wait, if something comes of this, they are currently on probation…could we see a death penalty sometime in the future, or something closer to USC sanctions?

Doesn’t this invalidate all African and Afro-American Studies degrees awarded at UNC-CH?
I am sure that UNC-CH will not revoke their degrees but for the non-athlete that got a degree in a department run by a fraud and delivering classes that were bogus it seems they were cheated. It will not be long until one of those graduates sues UNC-CH for damages.

NCAA has to be be back soon!! This is truely SMU stuff. And when are we getting rid of that filthy unc in front of our name. We have always run the cleanest of programs and that unc in front of our name does not represent what we stand for!!!
OK so let me get this right… summer of 2011 while the NCAA is investigating this is STILL going on? I don’t see how the NCAA can’t lower the boom on this.
