clt provides more UNC CHeat scandal.

@ carolineleland - UNC's PR team worked very closely with NCAA basketball broadcasters to make sure they fully understood the Wainstein report

From USA Today - http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2015/01/22/lawsuit-filed-against-north-carolina-ncaa-on-academic-scandal/22173755/ The suit seeks to create two broad classes of plaintiffs:

— A damages class comprising anyone who attended UNC-Chapel Hill on an athletic scholarship and enrolled in a broad range of African and Afro-American Studies and/or Swahili classes between 1989 and 2011. The list of those classes runs for 12 pages of the 100-page complaint.

— An injunctive relief class comprising anyone who attended UNC-Chapel Hill on an athletic scholarship or is currently attending the school on an athletic scholarship.

— Spokesmen for the NCAA and the university could not be reached for immediate comment.

clt says we need to sue for defamation of character.

UNC Charlotte, not UNC CHeat.

The ‘UNC’ is harming the Charlotte brand.

Everything in a nutshell.

Chizik has not been found guilty of any of the charges levied against him. But sweet sassy molassy, there have been a lot of charges levied against him. Chizik and his staff have been accused of paying players not to enter the NFL draft, improper recruiting, and — the icing on the tainted cake — fudging grades to keep players academically eligible.

I loved the comment that Roy Williams should be allowed to learn from his mistakes. Typical tarhole fan.

Meanwhile, the NCAA drops the hammer on Wichita State baseball. 3 years of vacated wins (including an NCAA appearance), 1 year probation, and a $5000 fine. All for getting a 50% discount with Under Armor totaling $7500 between 21 players.

we will use this as a reference when the NCAA comes down hard on Chapel Hill. ::slight_smile:

WSU’s level of violations were categorized as Level II (significant breach of conduct) and Level III (breach of conduct). Level I (severe breach of conduct) is the highest level. Level IV (incidental issues) is the least serious. Level II is defined as a “failure to monitor” and “systemic violations that do not rise to the level of institutional control.” Level III violations are defined as “isolated or limited in nature.”
So then Chapel Hill's violations would be classified as Level Zero or lower.

Good article. Since they share articles, I wonder if the Charlotte Observer will pick it up and publish it.
I thought that any statute of limitations period begins when material facts are brought to light.
