We were FCSv FCS…2013. You were FBS losing to fCS pretty weak there Clayton!!! Any loss to us by less than 21 points you will declare moral victory. Personally I’m thinking a 13 point victory is likely and not decided til 4th quarter. Emotion and personal pride will fuel 49er effort. I expect 1st quarter to be a slugfest and fans will be “horse” by halftime. App is talented but young and a hangover from PSU is likely.

A&T turned down the FCS playoffs last season to play in the Celebration Bowl. A FCS championship isn’t very important apparently.

Has there ever been an example of an existing program so excited to play an upstart program? I doubt GA Southern was this excited the first time they played GA State. I doubt any of the Texas schools were excited about playing UTSA.

If y’all don’t beat us by 30, you should hit the panic button. But that’s the difference in our programs. Your program is at an all time high. Ours is at an all time low. Believe me, nobody sees the low coming, and it ultra sucks. I remember days when app couldn’t get 15 k to the rock. Ours it’s at its bottom, and in reality, our attendance is about 10 k short of y’all. You should probably hope we don’t figure it out, because it’s a heck of a lot easier for our 150k living alums in the area code to drive to university city than however many you have to Boone.
It was about money. NBC or ESPN, I can’t remember the network, but they paid a lot of money to the two could conferences for this HBCU game. It was a ton of money compared to the entire athletic budget.
You are correct about FBS transitional. Though we did end up bowl eligible that year. The loss to an FCS team motivated App.
