We had 18,651 for A&T last year. That’s the most so far.
Every year we have had a new all time high. For whatever reason, capacity seems to have increased each year because we didn’t allow more than 16,600ish for the opening game and we’re told that was max per fire Marshall.
That video is hilarious. 1. Embarrassing, would run normal people off. 2. Dangerous, could atrract total cretins. Hot, Hot, Hot? Really? A joke it seems. I really don’t have a ton of animous against ASU. But they do seem to be too easy a
target. We shouldn’t put ourselves up next to them. Charlotte will be light years ahead of ASU soon enough. Quiet confidence, quiet dignity. Just wait.
If I was an Appy with kids between 8th and 11th grade I would not bring them to this game. Chances are pretty good they have seen Boone and App, but bringing them on campus to Charlotte is going to ruin any chance you have for a legacy enrollment.
Charlotte and Boone are apples and oranges, and both places are great and appealing in their own ways. Neither wants to be the other. However, when it comes to football, this is a great potential rivalry. Both schools’ fans may have a higher, unrealistic opinion of themselves, and their futures, but an App- Charlotte long- term series would build excitement and pack stadiums in a way that Rice and UL- Monroe just won’t. Feel the energy on 9/8 and tell me then if you disagree.
Most definitely agree. Regional rivalries are what we are missing in Conference USA. We need a Conference USA Sunbelt merger or team swap to make things interesting
I can see the regional attraction of such a league but I prefer we set our sites in gettin back where we belong rather than staying at the level we are.
I definitely do not want to stay where we are but we are a long way from an invite to even the AAC with our recent lack of success. Regional rivalries help generate more local interest in our program from fans, recruits & the media. If we are going to be in a POS conference we should at least be able to enjoy it. I cross paths with App fans all the time but I don’t think I have ever met a Rice or UTSA fan or whoever the heck all of those Texas teams are in our conference. I think we belong at the AAC level but we have some work to do to get back there.
