Clt says we have the best student section in cusa

Ah yes, Jam Up! We had a blast at it. There were several that faded from my memory due to too much alcohol. The best was Wet Willie and Henry Paul Band.

You do realize they moved it to a more remote lot, right next to a large parking deck right? Yes, I realize it is nearer to the Police HQ…but come on…they need a little more imagination on this.

Yes the question was why it moved from the flood plain and I explained why. Supposedly the student leaders a few years ago picked the new lot which admin was happy with as it could he supervised easier and their liability was acceptable. I haven’t heard of any stories of students passed out in the woods in the middle of the night or sexual assaults since it was relocated.

Students have been tailgating all this season as well, they just haven’t had a single lot. The AD has been putting student groups in various donors lots.

If the school decides the Covid reasoning for no large alumni or student tailgate has passed then we will have those large groups at the next home game. That was a school admin call not the AD.

The two I remember featured Mother’s Finest and the J. Geils Band. When lots of non-students started showing up they pulled the plug. Two and a half days of bands, beer and questionable decisions. Loved college!

Looks like the Alumni Tailgate Village got the green light for the next home game. Hopefully whatever restrictions were on the student tailgate will be lifted too.

During My last Jam-Up the Bud rep on campus brought in 6 Bud trucks and we went through 120 kegs in less than 8 hours. I think the show was Mothers Finest, Evelyn ā€œChampagneā€ King, and Mass Production . At least that is what I think I remember. I do know the keg count because I married the Bud rep.

One year it was Pure Prairie League, Flying Burrito Brothers, and Cowboy. Great times from what I might remember.

1977 through 1980 for me Great times and I too loved college but man were the classes hard!

I was there in 77-78 through 81, so we must have crossed paths. There must have been more than one Bud rep on campus at a time, because for years they were in my fraternity–or maybe there is a better story here than I imagined! I remember one year Schlitz was providing kegs, and they passed out steel buckets that held about a quart of beer. When you went up to get a beer, you got a bucket. There was no such thing as responsible drinking back then.

There was a Neal and a John S. who were Bud reps too. My wife to be was the female part of the Bud gang and she was one of the Little Sister’s to my Fraternity. Jo D was the Miller rep she was a Tri Delt before their National shut them down. I am guessing you were a Sig Ep. Cheers,

You are on the money. I went to the distributor warehouse with Neil once to pick up some posters, and we stopped by the driver’s room where they did their paperwork after running their routes, and they had coolers of beer. We stopped and ā€œdid our paperworkā€ for a few beers.

The wife tells me that some worked directly for Bud/AB and some worked for Bealer Wholesale.

Nice memories of Bealer Wholesale. They sponsored my city league slow pitch softball team back in the late 70s, early 80s. Provided us with numbered tee shirts with one of their AB brand logos and colors. The first year was Michelob Light, then Natural Light and finally Bud Light. They also provided new softballs for the season. At the end of the season they gave us several cases of whatever beer brand we wore that year for our year ending cookout. Good times
