49ers beat UTSA to get to 8 wins, our first bowl will be fun
49ers are undefeated after beating Davidson in A tight game.
49ers march ahead in the NCAA MSOC tourney.
I see clt is in the holiday spirit. Pass the eggnog!
clt says we are close.
Well it has been one hell of a year. 2016 was the bookends to what can be described as non-existent sports presence over the last decade. Before the rainbow and unicorn posters hit back; my comments relate to sports as a whole.
I know that football is still young, but as a purchaser of their product, I have the right to be pissed and want more. I want wins and I want out of CUSA. Will we never get out of CUSA without consistent winning, which means bowl appearances year after year including conference championships. The quagmire is that none of this will ever happen while we are in this conference. Hate the ACC or not, we will always be at a recruiting disadvantage in almost every sport. The ACC has morphed into an elite conference that competes in all sports for national championships. Just check ESPN every weekend and see how often our conference is discussed. I’m a Niner since 1995 and I would go to an ACC school in sports over Charlotte. Both of boys (8 and 12) no longer want to come to the games and have now decided that Clemson and Carolina are their teams (not fun times in my house). This is the reason why I will not be renewing my 4FSL’s that I have hadefore they broke ground. It is sad but the kids were one of the reasons why I bought them.
Regarding the other sports, it is simply depressing that a major university that is eclipsing 30k+ is still considered a commuter college and has all major sports represented and doesn’t have much to brag about over the history of our school. I can no longer give $ to a business that has a failing business plan. Like me - hate me, don’t care, if you to support the school by flushing money down the crapper, I’ve got 4 seats in 110 that have your name on them.
I’m watching ESPN this morning and telling myself that our BB or football will never be at these levels.
I will always cheer for Charlotte, however from the seats of another stadium. I’m chafing sides and moving to the ACC (not Carolina). At least if I see a lose, it will be a close game and against future hall of famers that will be playing on Sunday’s.
I will now only support our school from an academic level since this is the only opportunity this school has to succeed and exceed.
I will always be a niner but from a sports prospective, I will be a closet niner.
Peace out. I quit this bitch.
I’d love to call you all sorts of names… but damn, its hard to argue anyone wanting to run away from this disaster of a program.
Words can’t even express it anymore.
The saddest thing to me is looking around at what’s left of our fan base. I graduated '14. My friends and I all went to the game yesterday together like we always do. Outside of my group (10 at most), I saw 2 of our fans under the age of 30. When Judy finally walks away, and all these “lifers” she’s been depending on pass, there will literally be nobody left. I don’t know if you all have taken a look around, but our fan base is getting old. I would love to see a breakdown of our donors by age bracket. We do NOTHING to engage current students, or recent grads. Anybody left is from the 90’s hay-day. People I graduated with make fun of each other for supporting this dumpster fire. I always get pissed off about it, but I just can’t anymore. It’s literally flushing money down the toilet. For every exciting moment, there’s 10 horrible disappointments. I lie to myself every season and say “This is the year.” It’s never going to be the year.
clt says we need to win again.
We are the Cleveland Browns of college athletics. We used to be relevant but are stuck in a never ending black hole of suckiness. At least Rutgers can say they are in a P5 conference.

Itsbraille and I graduates in 09. We were close enough to the good years that we thought they’d return. Instead we have had 11 years of disappointment.
It’s not getting better, it’s getting worse. Halton used to be fun. Now it’s a tomb.
The atmosphere at football games has always been awful except the first game.
Baseball has been disappointing since 2011 or so.
All our women’s sports are pretty terrible despite getting more attention and support from our leaders than they get at most schools.
Men’s soccer and men’s golf are literally the only programs we can be proud of and one of those isnt even a spectator sport.
We are a sad embarrassment of an athletic department and I’d wager that we are among the worst in the country for schools that actually try to do more than just field a program for the sake of fielding a program.
I graduated in 11. None of my friends give a crap about the program…and these people are pretty big sports fans. It is unfathomable how inept our AD is. Thousands of alums every year yet we lose fan support year over year.
my favorite was the tweet informing us of UTSA’s attendance. Only 10,000 more than our average…

Today’s announced attendance at UTSA’s Alamodome is 23,807. Thank you to the members of #NinerNation that made the trip!

Lol what was the point if that? We maybe has a couple hundred there max… Why show how much better UTSA AD is at their jobs at getting butts in seats? What is going on in our AD?
