Thereâs always going to be Lutz bashers. I really donât understand it⌠If you want to say something bad about him, do it on another site.
However, as much as I like Bobby and as much as he exceeded everyoneâs expectations, I donât think he should be COYâŚ
maybe next season

The Lutz haters have just as much right to spout their side as we do ours. It does relate to Charlotte, so it is welcome. Plus, i think it'd be kind of boring without that level of debate on here.
I could see him being considered for conference COTY merely for the fact that the team exceeded even the media and the other conference coaches predictions, and for the defensive improvement, but that is about it. Our team would need to show more consistancy and have a strong finish for Bobby to truly have a chance at the award, and rightly so. You canât start to fade close to voting time and expect people to remember what you did at the beginning of the season. Plus, you must beat the teams you are supposed to beat, and not have multiple super bad losses.
Fran Dunphy should get it, and if he doesnât I will seriously be surprised.

Weâre all aware this has already happened, right? Just making sure weâre on the same page.
Consider a team which 4 of 5 starters had never played D1 ball before this year,
A team which their top 3 frontcourt backups were all Freshman,
A team which 75% of all playing minutes went to players with no D1 experience before this season,
And that team won 20 games, went to Post Season, finished tied for 4th in a 14 team league,
beat 2 teams that finished the season nationaly ranked, beat 5 teams who are in this years big dance;
I would say this Coach deserves Coach of the year honors!!!
You sir are an absolute idiot. COY normally goes to a real coach. And we certainly do not have a real coach.

If he is not ârealâ then what is he?

Iâm so sick of these excuses people come up with to make them optimistic about ânext yearâ (Thereâs always next year!).
Cool fact - so we got brand new D1 players to the NIT. It doesnât matter.

These are players recruited by Bobby Lutz. They are Bobby Lutzâs players. Bobby Lutzâs players and his coaching are not making it to the NCAA Tournament, period.

Sean Miller got it. It was very well deserved. He may end up at IU next season.
