Coach Lutz postgame thoughts

Edited: Postgame radio interview after season ending loss last year.

Thought it deserved it’s own thread…

He said we played with great effort. It shows since we shot so poorly, yet were in the game. Once again, we shot better from 3 than inside. It’s not that we aren’t trying. We had good shots and just missed them down the stretch. They outscored us 11-3 down the stretch. Maybe we’re just not good enough.

There was a group of Niner fans on hand and you could hear them in the background. He thanked them and the CORE fans for their support. He made it a point to thank the fans who have stayed with them through the season. It means a lot. We need to support our players regardless of the game.

Nance was interviewed and talked about how much he enjoyed playing here. Said he will definitely stay close to the program. How he plans to play some pro ball and the need to take care of his family.

Was that Nance sitting with Mitch tonight?

no, that was marcus bennett.

That was Marcus Bennett

[EDIT] Damn you ninerball49. You’re too fast for me.

:wow: Wow! The similarities are astounding!

I heard his postgame show and it sounded the same as every other postgame following a loss. Though, Lutz is really starting to make a habit of blaming the refs which becomes whiny, tacky and a copout. He did it three separate times last night. As I said in the other thread, yes, A-10 officiating is bad. But I’m tired of hearing Bobby lean on it so much. It was NOT the deciding factor but coming from him, you’d think it was the only reason we lost. I’m also tired of his little smirks and giggles during the interview. After a loss like last night or Dayton, I expect him to be highly ticked off. Last thing I want to hear is him laughing off questions from Matt which is did on several occasions last night.

He is also becoming redundant with his “we played pretty good defense but they just played great on offense and made baskets.” No $hit. Don’t you think that our defense had something to do with that? They scored at will in the paint and yes, that’s our lack of defense. And Coleman’s illness isn’t a valid scapegoat. Even when he was healthy, we haven’t played solid defense for 40 minutes so I’m not buying the excuses this time around.

I know it’s becoming a dead horse topic but he just gives me the impression that he doesn’t really give a damn. You can argue against that all you want but I hear a different coach talking than the one I heard a few years ago after games like last night. Yeah, I’m sure he still dislikes losing games but he sounds like a whipped man lately, both on and off the court.

Just goes to show you how redundant he’s become. I honestly didn’t even see the date on the original post you made before making my previous one…lol. I rest my case.

.

I think that’s what they call, “laughing all the way to the bank.”
