ESPN player evaluation

December, 2009: Mann pushes the ball make or miss at a great pace. He has excellent court vision and a quick first step that he uses to beat defenders. He can get in the lane at will where he makes pretty good decisions although at times he can get sped up that will lead into turnovers. Mann is small but he competes at both ends. He can make open shots to the arc when set. Mann also does a good job at making free throws at the end of games. Defensively Mann works to pressure the ball with his quick feet and active hands. He must work to be a consistent performer but this young lead guard has excellent upside.
May, 2009: Mann is a quick lead guard that must add weight and strength but he competes plays with heart and affects the game in a positive way on both ends of the floor. He is a top notch defender that has very quick hands and great lateral foot speed as he applies relentless pressure on the ball. He beats ball handlers to the spot and if the opposing point guard has a shaky handle Mann will rack up a ton of steals. He does a great job of pushing the ball in transition and can also slow down the tempo and set the offense. He constantly leads and communicates to his teammates on the floor which is rare for a guard this young. He can penetrate the lane at will and drive, draw and kick to teammates for open shots with his excellent court vision. Mann is also a respectable three point shooter off the catch with time and space. The young guard has great upside and will be one to watch as he develops.

That is definitely a first. A highlight video starting out with the player taking a charge. Chubby’s all around for Major and his defensive staff.

I like this kid, but we need another big man now in the 2011 class to fill out next season’s roster.

Have faith that the staff is looking at 2011 bigs (HS & JUCO) for next year.

I have been informed me he is indeed a 2011 PG. Definitely someone to keep our eyes on.

yeah. that’s better.

Are the recruiting services just overlooking this kid or is he not a mid level prospect. His high school appears to have a PG headed to KSU so I assume some evaluators have seen him play yet there isn’t much on him out there.

my guess is he didn’t play too much travel ball (could be wrong). I know he’s knew to the HS he’s at now, which is a power in FL.

Time will tell about the level of prospect he is.

See TJ McConnell at Duquesne.

has video highlights and interview with Cody Mann after they knocked off Miller Grove (GA).

Charlotte & Virginia are the only 2 schools he mentioned.

Mann’s HS team can not compete in district or state tournaments due to illegal player:

Is it safe to assume we’re not recruiting him anymore since we’ll have Pierria, Luka, Biscoe, and Derrio who can play the 1 and Pierria, Derrio, DeMario, and TWill to play the 2?

That would be my assumption, CSD.

Yea we will definitely have depth at Gaurd next season those 6 plus Colby. So I doubt Mann is our list anymore…we need another big man and we are set

clt says Mann, we need this guy.

heading to Colorado State
