Brown has a point here that I hadn’t thought about:

I mean there is a difference. The ticket takers and such are not getting a free education, food and room and board. I’m sure they would be happy to get the benefits the athletes do.

It’s not sustainable. Even SEC schools cannot afford to compete. Reality has to set in at some point.

Arkansas is a mess, starting with it’s piece of work gov.

BTW, my mother’s best friend in grad school at DU was from what was then nicknamed the Land of Opportunity. My recollection is that they were the only Southerners in the library science program at U Denver and thus the bond.

I’m considering stopping my meager donation to our own collective.

I feel bad contributing to propping up this insane system.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better for schools like us but the sooner this situation is resolved the better.

I don’t feel bad contributing to the players getting paid. We’ve wasted around ten million dollars (let that really sink in) on shitty coaching hires who haven’t produced shit.

I’m only considering stopping donating to the collective because it seems not only is our leadership too inept to get us there, they’re working against it. The raising of ticket prices for basketball when we are trying to build some momentum is mind boggling. The first time in a decade Halton didn’t feel like a tomb for most of the season and Mike hill jacks ticket prices.

We aren’t going to be serious as a program. We aren’t going to make serious hires. It’s just tough to be engaged and support the program at all if the people in charge are going to look at you with a straight face and talk about their accolades in track and field and expect you to not be insulted. It’s the ultimate gaslight.

$7 million gift for MBB - mostly NIL. Billionaire Justin Ishbia - an MSU grad - owns Phoenix pro hoops teams Suns and Phoenix, as well as a minority stake in MLS Nashville FC.

Have we heard any explanation from the AD about how much tickets went up?

That was a huge percentage increase.

Anyone heard anything or read any statements?
