College athlete compensation - NIL etc šŸ’°

Yeah, not accusing him of faking an injury but the status of his injury was rather unclear.

i am!, always have. When no one can answer a question about his status, I start to think someoneā€™s been reading his social media. He thought he was going to come in here and be RB #1 from day 1, and he wasnā€™t. He knew the rules on # of games you can play and still get a RS

When employment arrives, and I agree thatā€™s coming, I donā€™t see how eligibility rules stay.

Just a reminder - Baker is the NCAA prez. Of course, heā€™s works for the member schools, so they - which includes UNCC - would have to want to do something that could correct the current dysfunction and pass the muster of the courts as well.

Pandoraā€™s box is wide open and it wonā€™t be closed again. Paying an athlete for the use of their name, Image and likeness was a good thing. After all if you use my name on a jersey to sell more jerseys I should get part of that. Or using my name and likeness on a video game.
Just handing a kid a bag of money to play is a whole different thing all together. I think the judge is going to flip out.

too much money and too much greed out there for all this to end well. Feel bad for the true student athletes who see their peers in the two big sports making bank and them getting nothing.

They are getting a scholarship in many cases along with the opportunity to keep playing a game they love.

Itā€™s not nothing.

If their sports generated revenue they would get more.

Oh I get that. At that age not so sure I would have. Iā€™m playing college tennis with no $s in my pocket and a basketball player rolls out in his new hoopty heading to Mortonā€™s. That would have an impact on me.
