College athlete compensation - NIL etc šŸ’°

This will become more common although likely less fractious.

The bottom line is if youā€™re paying the players they are going to collectively and in some cases individually make more than the coach.

Thatā€™s the way it is in pro sports.

The coaches are more replaceable.

The old days of college head coaching with their mega deals are dying.

Iā€™d like to see revenue sports operating in their own self generating budget and away from a student fees.

I think this will be coming to an end soon. Contracts that basically fill the role of NLIs/scholarships will soon be the default.

Umā€¦the Schedule ? Thatā€™s who.

Side note, it will be funny when top recruits can start dictating OOC schedule changes in their NIL contracts.

I took his comment to say BYU will be NCAAT contenders next season and as such in a position to face Duke during March Madness. Would also think ESPN is already working to set up a regular season matchup between the top two 2025 recruits. In the big picture, Dybantsa will face much better overall competition in the Big XII during his one and done on the way to the NBA.

FWIW these are estimated. Still interesting to see what we are up against.
