I feel very fustrated. I swore that I would not donate to NIL. But, now I feel pressure to donate to NIL, rather than the general fund, to do my part to make sure we can stay in the conference.
It sucks. I refuse to donate to NIL. So I guess now Iām part of the problem and really donāt have a right to complain about any sport that relies on NIL payments to maintain a level of competitiveness.
I donāt care though. Iām not donating to pay a player who is already getting so much for free. That money is much better given to the pantry or academic scholarships or hell my own kids education funds.
If itās proball they shouldnāt need me to donate. If itās it college sports I wouldnāt be donating to pay a player.
Lol. I aināt donating a dime to any public school for anything. They get plenty of my tax dollars already.
I save my philanthropy for The Shiners and Make a Wish.
I donāt really know what the point is. 2 million roster just isnāt enough.

As this college basketball season has clearly shown, just throwing money around wonāt cut it. Have to get the right players to be successful.
Itās ridiculous.
Please please just split off already.
No matter what anyone thinks, there are not even 40 programs that can afford this shit. Itās probably like about 24.
I second the split.
They can divide it up into three or four levels for all I care.
I donāt give a crap anymore about being in division 1.
Itās been 37 years for me. 37 years of watching the Ninerās bump up against the glass ceiling.
Iām sick of it.
I love college sports and all I want is for us to play at a level we can compete for titles at.
Iām sick and tired of the current status quo.
If the schools outside of the P4 would just wise up we could peel off and reorganize ourselves into a division and regional conferences that make sense along with like minded FCS teams. Cut costs, actually enjoy our sports and continue the actual mission of what we are supposed to be doing.
In a perfect world we are in a conference with A&T, Western, App, Elon, ECU, Gardner Webb, NC Central, Coastal, Furman, Wofford.
Something like that.
All games within driving distance. All schools with limited athletic budgets.
Iāve been wanting a split for 30 years.
It was one thing when we were all playing under the same rules that at least superficially kept the playing field level.
But where were are today? Itās soooo far removed what college athletics was supposed to be.
Iām watching the Drake (29-3) vs Bradley (26-7) conference tournament game.
This is college sports. I want this back. Badly.
clt will keep yelling at the clouds. this model isnāt sustainable and is going to go down like nancy reagan
Didnt that guy who dropped 40 on us the other night wasnāt he a first year transfer from Drake??
Seems they re-loadedā¦
Yes, Wright transferred to North Texas from Drake. Practically entire 2023-24 team departed when DeVries left Des Moines for Morgantown.
Those Ls to Davidson are gonna keep coming.

Also from Matt:
Does anyone feel like if one or two schools reclassify out of D1 it might open the floodgates?
Especially if itās a school with a good rep.
Letās say Rice and Boston University dipped out.
Does that change the narrative?
