Not sure where this should go but would probably shut down our AD
Nevermind I read that wrong. If itâs just for NIL that is the way it should be and makes perfect sense.
Wonât work. The schools and collectives and booster owned businesses will drown them in lawsuits.
WHO are they to say what is a valid business purpose.
A valid business purpose is what the market will bear.
They will find a way around this Iâm sure.
In no way should any student fees go directly to NIL or paying athletes. This may sound dumb to some, but Iâd rather drop down a level than have to see Charlotte students paying athletes. That just doesnât make any sense to me.
Absolutely where I am VA. I
It feels wrong to even pay players if any money from the school and fees are helping fund the sport. Before football should be paying players not needs to break even on its own.
Im perfectly fine dropping down.
clt logs on, sips his zima, and wonders how long this can really last.
NIL deals are getting handed out like Bojangles biscuitsâeveryoneâs got one, and most of 'em are crumbling by lunchtime. UNC-CHeat boosters dropping six figures on a 3-star backup linebacker? ECU pretending itâs the NFL draft with their collectives? Come on now.
Hereâs the truth: the current model is unsustainable. Moneyâs flying around like it grows on the Dogwoods. Itâs not tied to production. Itâs not tied to revenue. Itâs just tied to hype, tweets, and empty promises. Thatâs not how you build anything that lasts.
clt sees the signsâHollywood already lived through this. Sydney Sweeney became the face of a generation with nothing more than two things working very hard for her (and weâre not talking about acting range). Now sheâs in every ad campaign and hosting awards shows, but even she said she canât afford to take time off because the industry doesnât pay like people think. If Sydneyâs brand isnât printing money non-stop, what makes yâall think a mid-major left tackleâs is?
NIL is running off vibes and TikTok clips. Thatâs not a business model. Thatâs a pop-up tent in a hurricane.
clt ainât saying players shouldnât get paidâheâs all for fair compensation. But this is a runaway train, and Charlotte doesnât have the track for it. Until thereâs real structure, cltâs putting his trust in BBQ, basketball, and balance sheets.
âclt out
Thatâs who always gets rich in a class action
Iâve said that for a long time. The fees take away from the pot of money available to redress the claims.
One of CLTs strongest posts in a long time.
Gassman is impressed.
Almost as impressive as Kon Knuepelâs summer league debut tonight!
VA49er,
Itâs happening now.
The statements about the student fees not going to NIL is nothing but a big pile of horse manure.
It all goes into the same pot.
Next year might be my last year.
I wish we had opted out of house.
Dropping down is fine.
I think we can maintain sports if we opt out of house and can find a coalition of the willing to be in a conference with us.
