Agree with Winter that this is a good piece by sports journalist Eric Crawford of Louisville Fox affiliate WDRB.

$10 Million for a college basketball team. WTF.

The NBA plays 82 games plus the playoffs. College 30.

How does this make any sense?

Do I dare fact checking this? The fact that it’s plausible says it all.

If Kentucky spent $22M on its men’s basketball roster, then $40M for an SEC football squad is definitely plausible.

Now that I’ve seen a schedule etc, can call out today’s Saving College Sports summit for what it is - one big nothing. Especially since there are no athletes among the invitees.

It doesn’t.

Top level College sports is the plaything of the rich and powerful who in many instances don’t care how much it costs.

Hits nail on the head. :hammer:

I’m sure a bunch of 18-25 year old athletes would come up with a great solution. It would be called “pay us more”.

An hour? Nothing is getting done with that many Type A personalities together in a room for an hour. They won’t even have enough time to backslap each other and themselves before they get down to business. It looks more like a “who does Trump want to be seen talking to” event than anything.

Nah guys. I think he’s gonna nail it.

One round table.

Done.

Good summation by Winter in that first sentence.

Yeah, an hour is pretty comical. With 15 minutes for the media. Hopefully a committee to address some of the issues or something good came from the meeting.
