Wouldn’t matter if all the colleges did it.

Question.

Why can’t the ncaa just sign all players to an NIL deal that would pay them out of NCAA revenue.

Would that be against current law?

What’s the tax implications of comped private air travel.
These kids better save up some NIL for a serious big time Accountant.

ā€œTwo years ago, Day said it would take $13 million in NIL money to maintain Ohio State’s roster. Today, it’s believed the budget is even higher than that.ā€

Does anyone believe this number will come down in the next 2 years? Day and OSU have Juniors that are possible 1st and 2nd round picks coming back instead of going into the draft. How long will the NFL be happy with that talent restriction? This thing is steaming out of control.

It will come down along with other professional sport salaries. Those have been on the decline for years.

ā€œNILā€ - also, can the word ā€œcommitā€ and its other variations be banned from the college sports lexicon? There are no commitments. There’s simply, ā€œI’ll play there for a year minimumā€ or in some cases, weeks.

That’s ridiculous.

At some point Congress is going to have to act, because the NCAA failed to.

I foresee revenue sharing coming, with NIL deals cut back to video games, merchandise, and car dealership ads.

FWIW, that $1M+ NIL figure associated with Oumar Ballo is questionable since US visa rules severely limit financial compensation for international students - something Zach Edey was quite vocal about during the men’s FF in Phoenix.

Anyway, does seem like there’s some movement in Congress to address that:

I don’t see any lies here.

The sooner the bigwigs split off and we can have a different division for the G5 and any P5s that want to get out of the rat race the better.

I would love to be able to have even a theoretical chance at a Natty.

This goes for basketball too.

I don’t care if we will be in feeder leagues for the P5. That’s what we are in now.

This situation needs to be organized in the best way for reasonably fair competition which will be more enjoyable for the players and fans.

As Hootie always says. When you win a state 2A title it’s still a title and something to celebrate.

Get us out of this rat race.

Get us into a level we can compete at.
