Interesting that Thamel and Dellenger don’t seem to be in total agreement on the numbers unless I’m just not reading things correctly. Hmm… ![]()
This article may have already been posted but it contains a lot of good information. It probably wouldn’t be a good thing for anyone, but I kind of wonder if the bankruptcy option wouldn’t be better for the G5 in the future since we are already operating a lot closer to bankruptcy and the P5 & NCAA have a lot more to lose. I do like the part of the settlement that gives the NCAA more power to enforce their no pay for for play rules and to make sure any booster lead collectives are true NIL.
Interesting NIL lawsuit. The first of many to come I imagine.
Looks like another round of lawsuits to come.
The hubris of the P5 conferences to assign a share that is nearly 50% of their obligation after never sharing anywhere close to that much of the BCS/CFP payouts with the G5 says it all. And without allowing the G5 to have any say whatsoever and as a non defendant in the suit.
F them. F them all.
Let them burn. To the ground.
This is why I kind of want them to not do the settlement and have to go with the bankruptcy option. Not sure how it would affect us but I’m sure most of the former players looking to be reimbursed for not getting NIL are P5 players.
Some of these " kids" are entering the fuck around and find out phase of big business. They will find out these companies do not play and that they are a little different than handlers and boosters in what they can get away with. They will also find out that justice is what you can pay an Attorney and these corporations have plenty on staff and much deeper pockets.
And here we go - first of the non-P5 to basically tell them publicly to GFT! ![]()
Hopefully not the last. The non P5’s need to fight this and at least make it more difficult on them.
The P5 created this mess. They should be the ones on the hook.
Would be really ironic if we eventually end up in court with NCAA v NCAA!
When you have a prominent sports law attorney like Winter making comments like this, gotta feeling “the end” of the NCAA as we’ve known it is closer than not!
