Thank you for that. Now I follow.
BTW, donât know this for sure, but pretty sure the reason we didnât hear about an equivalent letter from the G5 like the one from the Big East et al protesting the breakdown of payments is simple - no G5 school wants to jeopardize an opportunity to âmove upâ during future rounds of realignment.
I thought the AAC contested the suits previously? Wouldnât that be about the same thing?
I know that the AAC has been involved in lawsuits and was specifically listed as a defendant in Alston v NCAA, but not aware conference has specifically contested House. Iâm no authority though, so just not completely sure.
Talk about a no win situation.
The non P4 leagues are so dependent on NCAA tournament money and NCAA championships and organization that they have no way of leaving and supporting themselves, but they also have no power.
The only way out of this is if the P4 breaks away into their own organization and the NCAA hopefully can survive without them with the leftovers.
But the P4 have no incentive to do so because they have the NCAA by the balls too, and they can use them to run all the Olympic sports for them.
It seems the only hope we have is for the P4 to go into a new division and let the rest of us play for our own championships.
The silence from the G5 makes sense.
The big east and any other FCS or non football conference has nothing to lose.
Wow. Just wow.
The beginning of the endless stream of lawsuits.
If you guys arenât listening to the Yahoo Sports College Football Inquirer podcast with Dellenger, Forde and Wetzel you are missing out.
They have no allegiance to any leagues or networks so you get good unvarnished commentary. And they are well connected.
Highly recommended.

House v NCAA is being litigated in California, while the currently similar but separate Fontenot v NCAA anti-trust case is being heard in Colorado. Different legal teams.
Would love to know Biffs thoughts on this or are we already doing this with some of his past associates??
I canât keep up with all of this poppycock anymore. Itâs beyond nauseating.
This statement is complete cow dung.
âIf there is no growth, the firm does not take a cut.
âThey are not mandated to pay us back the money we give them,â Weatherford said.â
No way. If thatâs the case then they would give the money as a donation and take the tax write offs.
The entire thing is just horse sh** and emblematic of whatâs wrong in college sports.
All the P4 are getting more money than ever n the next 10 years but they still need more?
Have they not heard of the concept of cutting costs???
These people are the worst managers Iâve ever read about.
Itâs ludicrous.
Good discussion between Norlander and Parrish on todayâs podcast, with first 30 minutes devoted to this topic. Said there will be cuts in departments, even at the highest levels just due to financial restraints. While that might most likely manifest itself in the P4 through staff reduction - and thatâs actually already happening - at MM and LM schools then youâre talking about cutting Olympic sports etc. Of course, could see schools dropping down a division or, in worst case scenario, eliminating intercollegiate athletics altogether.
(And no, I didnât listen to their talk about the Holes!)
