College Football Playoff šŸ†

Oh yeah. It’s the SEC and everybody else. Very possible in any given year the best 4 teams in the nation reside in the SEC.

Outside of the playoff how did the SEC perform during bowl season against other conferences? Not so great.

Oh, You mean outside of games that actually matter?

I think he is trying to say that the SEC was top heavy.

Probably some truth to that sentiment, but also some evidence against it.

The ACC is likely slowing down playoff expansion to get a better TV deal. The ACC’s TV deal is much less than the SEC and Big 10 so they probably want more TV companies bidding on the playoff (like Fox, CBS, or NBC) or they want ESPN to rework their current TV deal to get playoff expansion on a faster track.

Can’t let dem GANG of 5 programs get near the precious MONEY!

CFP to continue as SEC Invitational till 2026:

The Pac12 must be beside itself.

Oklahoma and Texas are going to be bedsides themselves when they don’t sniff the playoff after joining the SEC.

Texas isn’t sniffing it now as a member of the Big 12!

I know. And they probably think they are going to be better in the SEC.

I think they have turned a big program into a mid tier program.

Eventually any shine they have left will wear out.

Maybe they can be competitive in hoops!

Sounds like Dabo and the ACC torpedoed what many thought was a done deal. Notre Dame is spitting nails.

Gotta feeling no one happier about this latest CFP development in diverting attention than C-USA admin. As bad as the latter’s snafu with the SBC 3 looks, that doesn’t hold a candle to the dysfunctional clustersf**k of CFP expansion!

$450 million of additional revenue, a chunk of which would go to G5 programs desperate for it, both directly and indirectly via buy games. Without it, I dunno how viable they can continue to be.

I think there are some at the top who want to try to starve the rest of the field until they die off. This is about control, plain and simple.

By all accounts I’ve read, the people wanting to ā€˜do the starving’ are Dabo and the ACC. The SEC was for it because it’s a win-win for them and they were interested in the ā€˜good of the game’ for G5, as the Pac12 was in (in any form of expansion, not just a 12 team), and B1G, and ND. Warren from B1G was nibbling for favors with the champion and Rose Bowl, but was in. So it’s Dabo and the ACC playing the most cynical game.
