Charlotte wins but look who’s their POY.

Appreciate the recognition but seems like another half-ass job by the so-called “experts”. Really makes you appreciate guys like Bilas who do more than take a passing glance while the diggers and vitales of the world are trying to predict when sean may will clip his toenails.

It’s not a stretch. Who’s to say Curtis can’t backdoor the POY with a dominating performance? I still think and hope it’s Eddie, but Curtis deserves serious consideration. He’s leading the league in scoring (only counting league games) and is right there with the leaders in league rebounding.

Does anybody have Eddie, Curt, and Garcia stats for league games only.

Are all season stats used to determined the award or just the conf. games? I would think it just the conf. games.

Anyone remember where we were projected to finish in CUSA this year? I’m remembering 5th. Anyone got the original list?

You are correct, sir. It is not a stretch to imagine Curt winning it.

Taking either player off of this team would be a significant impact. However, losing Eddie from this team would have a greater impact than if the team lost Curt.

Here's one for laughs...

Preseason Team Rankings

62 behind Marquette, UAB, Depaul, Memphis to name a few…

[b]Projected Conference Rank: Seventh place in the conference isn’t as bad as it seems. The top seven teams will be strong in the Conference USA. Last year, Louisville was a very talented team and ended up in sixth place in the conference. C-USA would be looking even better for the future…if we didn’t know any better.

Projected Post-season Tournament: NIT

Italicized orange entries denote who’s leading that category between these three. I haven’t checked everyone in C-USA, so I don’t know if any of these stats are category leaders within the conference. I would assume Curt’s points and Eddie’s steals are, and both of them have gotta be up there in rebounding too. Eddie seems to have the most complete stat line of the group, while Garcia’s actually seems to be the weakest. They’re all pretty comparable overall though, and I know that percentages probably aren’t looked at as much as points, rebounds, steals, assists, etc., so they’re all relatively close. Right now though, it’d be tough for me to see it going to a non-Charlotte player. I guess it all really does come down to Thursday.

Basden and Withers out-stat Garcia but might cancel each other out, making Garcia the winner.

It seems obvious to me. As Huggins said in his conference call yesterday, whoever wins Thursday will win the award. Eddie should be in prime position to win for us. Garcia (even though I’d totally disagree) if we lose.

Fortunately, we will win on Thursday.
