They have to get this done by July 1st right? That’s the beginning of the college sports fiscal and administrative year IIRC.

If not deal done by then it could be mass chaos with no stability for the PAC moving forward.

There’s very little excitement for college sports on the West Coast. ESPN has data showing there will be less interest when USC and UCLA are in the Big 10.

The Pac 12 should cut a deal for a few years and hope their ratings defy the recent past and they can renegotiate in a few years in a stronger position. Add 2 schools so they have 12 schools and don’t get sued by a hungry LA attorney for misrepresentation.

That is cataclysmic if true.

I pretty much reflexively favorite any Uncle Roger gifs.

I could put this on the streaming thread but I think it works here too:

I know plenty of people in my family that pay for cable or satellite and watch zero sports. A lot of people are currently paying for ESPN and don’t consume the product. If the cable companies offer packages without ESPN that is going start reducing their revenue. I watch mostly college football on ESPN but if push comes to shove I could probably do without it especially if they are going to charge around $60 a month.

It really comes down to what ESPN charges. I just put YouTube TV on “pause” for the summer because no one watches it in my house when I’m not watching sports. All the other channels / shows are just filler - will watch them if there is nothing else on, but just as likely to bounce over to Netflix.
