Not sure why they think their payout would match the B12.
Lower population out west. Not prime time games. Simply not as good a product on the field.
I do hope they get their wish but doesn’t seem certain to me.

I’m with you, having a later start for the games does help them a bit though.
If you cut off both my hands, I could count on my hands how many PAC-12 conference games I’ve watched.
The flip side is they have a captivate west coast audience for many games wit less competition.
I hope your right. As someone pointed out earlier the best thing for us is conference stability for a while.
Gives us time to become the best of the AAC!!!
What I’m hearing is part of the reason these conferences are getting better TV deals is due to the anticipation of sports gambling becoming bigger. If you have a more competitive conference it will likely draw in more betting advertisers and viewers who bet on games.
That and live TV content is the only content that is worth anything anymore. Traditional scheduled time delivery is just about dead aside from that.
Who wants to be told what time you have to watch the Voice or Law & Order? No one apparently.
NC needs to get in gear with sports gambling. I just happened to be in Vegas for a conference on our bye weekend and partook of the caesers sports book for a bit of CFB and NFL wagering. Excellent fun.
You can bet legally in NC it just has to be in person at the casino’s sports book in Cherokee, Murphy, or Kings Mountain. Many states are offering betting through apps which is a whole other level.
BTW I’m not encouraging gambling because the odds are always in favor of the house.
I thought the B12 deal was worth $50 million per school?
The $50M figure includes the new TV deals, CFP and NCAAT money, etc.
Still extremely angry about this, especially when a Chapel Cheat peon had a lot to do with it failing
I feel like that is kind of a good thing for the time being to keep anyone else from getting poached from the AAC. Although, I guess the B12 could poach the P12 and the P12 still go after AAC schools.
They could negotiate adding G5s as well but it does mean it’ll be a little more difficult which is good for us. The time to win though is now.
I think only smu would be a target for pac 12. Can’t see them going for memphis or usf.
not too surprised about this. I think it just shows they want some meat with the potatoes. getting us and memphis would’t be worth paying extra money as it stands. if the big twelve could get the 4 corner schools and then add us and memphis in the package as areas to feature those brand teams at then thats something they would look into paying for.
Yeah that’s the dynamic about market people miss. It isn’t if we bring the market it is opening up the market for the teams in the league.
