  They werent playin around when they drew that schedule up!

Im glad I dont go to Coppin State, they dont play a home basketball game until MID JANUARY!!! wow I wouldnt be able to handle that.

Also, take note of their roster…their biggest post players are 6’7" 205lbs and 6’7 210. We should toss these guys around like rag dolls…

whoa.

Not only are they small, they have NO seniors and only three juniors. That's a tough schedule for a program of Coppin State's caliber even with a veteran team, let alone a young team like that. Unless they pick up a W in the consolation game(s) of the BCA, they are staring 0-11 in the face.

potential starting lineup:

Roberts G - 5-9 155
West G - 6-0 168
Harrison G/F - 6-3 215
Proctor F - 6-4 230
Pressey F© - 6-7 205

Is John Chaney their coach? That will suck starting 0-9.

But they may knock someone off. If you have players of high mental fortitude, it makes life a lot easier come conference play. U La La did a good job of parlaying thje same caliber schedule into an NCAA bid last year and a solid RPI.

They will be rich, though. They’ll probably get paid about 25K per game (at least). Not a bad paycheck for Nov/Dec.

...and that's the bottom line. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

$=better facilities
better facilities=better players
better players=more wins
more wins=more notoriety
more notoriet=even better players

This will help Coppin St. 2-5 years down the road.

That’s what they’ve been telling themselves for the past 5 years. It hasn’t helped yet, but there’s always next year.

That’s a 2-27, yes 2-27, non-conference record over the last three seasons. With 0-11 looking like a good possibility this season, it can’t be good for the player’s psyche.

This isn’t going to help them either:

Basketball: Men’s Competition

BALTIMORE, MD— Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ron “Fang” Mitchell announced Thursday afternoon that former Coppin State University student-athletes Nicholas King, Raheem Scott, Darron Bradley, and Derek Daniels have transferred from the Eagle program.

He saw action as a starter in all 29 of Coppin’s contests and broke a career high in points at South Carolina State on February 7, 2005 where he posted 31. In his first season the Philadelphia native was named to the MEAC All-Rookie team after averaging 10.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game during the 2003-2004 campaign.

Scott, A 6-2, 215 lb. guard from Philadelphia, Pa. was an All-MEAC Second Team selection last season. He started 28 games and averaged 7.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He placed third on last years squad in points (221), field goals (74), and minutes played (987), while holding fourth in rebounds with 132. He was named to the MEAC All-Tournament team as a sophomore during the 2003-2004 season and as a freshman was one of only three players to start all 28 games for the Eagles. Scott would have entered his senior season with 569 points and 381 rebounds with 2,656 minutes in 88 games played at Coppin.

Bradley, A 6-5, 190 lb. forward from Philadelphia, Pa. sat out the 2004-2005 season due to injury. As a sophomore in 2003-2004 he appeared in 29 games, making nine starts, and averaging 3.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. As a freshman he played in 25 games for Coppin State and made 17 starts while averaging 3.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Daniels, a 6-7, 330 lb. forward from Baltimore, Md. saw action in 21 games making seven starts and averaged 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. He finished with 64 points and 29 rebounds in total.

Coppin State University ended the 2004-2005 campaign 14-15 (13-5 MEAC), which included a trip to the semi-finals of the MEAC Tournament. In 2005-2006 the Eagles return two starters and nine letterwinners from last year.[/code]
