14 days!

Coach, do you have any surprises?

Roll call… who is making the trip to Fetzer Field?

If I can get off work, I am there. So is my old roommate and his girlfriend.

I am there, watched the niners last time they were there too…this team excites me much more…counting the days.

i will be there. look forward to getting some eats with fellow niners, too.

I’m going to have to catch a ride on the Jfickett express for this one.

So long as it is indeed a partay and not a party, because I have been Jewed like that before. Only I can say Jewed.

I might go, depends on what time the game is and if I have to work. If I am at work, you guys are more than welcome to come by and heckle me.

I’m there!

ITs been on hte calendar for quite some time now… this is a big one for our ladies! you knwo - since crapel hill is typically numero uno in womens soccer

Seconded! But they won’t do it without some serious support in the stands!! Come on guys!

Thanks all! This is really so great to see this kind of support for the program.

An update after 4 days of preseason:

This group has improved more in such a short time than any team I have had. Of course the bad part of this is we had so much to improve, but they have taken the challenge and I could not be more proud of them. After a tough few days (and another session still to go tonight) they will get a very deserved day off tomorrow.

On a daily basis I can see the experience we have lost, the little details that are missing with graduation, but along with youth comes a great excitement that anything is possible. This excitement has resulted in more intense training sessions that even I expected (and I ALWAYS expect great intensity).

I have tweaked our preseason quite a bit, and while some changes are out of my comfort zone a little, I think these changes are important in my coaching. My teams traditionally start out very slowly and build as the season continues, hopefully playing our best ball at the end. With our preconference schedule, I had to make some changes so that we can compete at a higher level earlier than in the past.

I am not a guy that talks about “when we win.” I don’t know if we will ever win another game. We worry about what we can control, and that is our effort on a daily basis. If we have great effort and focus, we will get better every day. If we get better every day then success will result, but right now we only worry about the process of improving every session. As I like to ask them: “Did we get better today?”

We are excited to play in Chapel Hill, and yes of course we know the challenge ahead of us, especially as an opener. But more importantly, we need to just focus on playing hard that night, playing our best, battling for one another, and making ourselves and our fans proud.

Thanks for everything. I will try to keep you updated and if there are ever any specifics you want me to write about just ask!

Jon

Jewed.

Yeah, I said it… what are you gonna Jew about it?

I’ll be there.

Hey coach - any idea who we should talk to about tickets or should we just show up gameday?

Some friends that go to CH told me they’ve sold out multiple womens soccer games in the past - i dont know what the circumstances were for that, but is that something we should worry about since its their home opener?

There is a lot of construction going on around Fetzer Field this year. Negative is it might be harder to park and get to field … just leave a little time. Positive for you is no charge for matches this year. Just walk on in!
