Schools must currently have two courts to run the men’s and women’s courts simultaneously. The tournament could take place at a neutral site, but the only schools with a setup to meet the requirements are UTEP and UAB, Stewart said. The tournaments are at UAB this season.
Really? Doesn’t our city have 2 neutral arenas that could host? TWC and Bojangles?

I’m not sure why we don’t meet the requirements unless conflicts with the Hornets and the CIAA tournament prevent us from hosting, but I would think even if TWC were out of the picture Halton and Bojangles would still be available.

I wouldn’t be a fan of us hosting unless TWC was in play for the mens tournament though.

Yeah, maybe they meant “available”, not just exists, and the city actually bid on/wanted it. Don’t think Charlotte will anytime soon.

clt says play the men’s tourney at time warner and the women’s tourney at the court beside the rdh.

I know this would never fly but isn’t Bojangles Coliseum suppose to get a $16 million renovation soon? The Men’s tournament could be there and the women’s tournament in Halton. Bojangles is the right size for the crowd that the CUSA tournament would bring. A renovated Bojangles would likely be on par with UAB’s arena. Plus you could serve beer at Bojangles. Since TWC has the CIAA, Hornets, and other events i doubt they would want the CUSA tournament.

I don’t really want us to ever host at bojangles honestly. It’s in a run down part of town with nothing around. Sadly, I think our attendance would be embarrassingly bad at bojangles honestly. at least at twc you can sell people in the city on the experience

Why are we wanting the C-USA Tournament in the first place? To show the rest of the league how little our own town gives a shit about non-ACC teams?

Ideally, it’d be nice, but realistically, you are correct. Therefore, I don’t want it here. Sad. :-[

We hosted sunbelt tournaments at the coliseum and were able to get 13k+ in. Think about that for a second.

If we host the conference tournament we have a better chance at winning it.

My opinion - CUSA tournament at TWC or we don’t host. Any other option is subpar and not worth consideration.

I’d rather not host period. Seeing that place 80% empty for any game we aren’t playing in (70% empty in those we are in) would be embarrassing.

You’re implying we have some sort of home-court advantage. Home losses to Rice, FIU, Marshall and Middle Tennessee over the past two seasons tell a different story.
