Not necessarily. Some of the short sellers are targeting otherwise healthy banks. This can scare depositors which can lead to a run on a healthy bank that then can bring down the bank. Short sellers make money when the stock decreases. The SEC is looking into it. Who knows if they’ll do anything.

This hit me harder than I thought. Just realized how long it has been (decades, plural) since I watched MTV. When I was in school it was the default channel from about lunchtime til I crashed everyday (ESPN was on in the mornings - watching sportscenter on loop).
Has there been a bigger fall than MTV? From cultural icon and vital viewing to whatever the hell they’ve been doing for the last 10 or 20 years.
Kurt Loder and Tabitha Soren (who was kinda hot) mean nothing to gen Z, and I’m guessing most Millennials too. Not to mention Matt Pinfield (the original encyclopedia of music). That’s crazy to me. I looked Soren up some time back - can’t remember why. I dunno when she left the channel, but she was some kind of artist or photographer now, and had been for a while. Pinfield got sober a couple years back. I do follow him on Twitter.
To old timers, MTV has fallen immeasurably. However, they are still around, so I guess whatever they are now doing is working for their target audience.
