Kids hate what their parents have. Once gen z becomes parents their kids will all want android lol

Yeah, I figured this wouldn’t be anything new. Both my kids have iPhones. My son did want to borrow an old Samsung the other day so he could download some game not offered by Apple. So, there’s that.

Gave my youngest a slightly used flagship android and he was “embarrassed” until I replaced it with a 3 year old iphone.

Same kid now hates ADIDAS and will only wear Nike. Said he would be embarrassed if he wore Adidas soccer shorts…

Kids, especially teenagers, are just weird. Hard for me to believe Champion is now popular again. Back in the day, that brand was junk.

Not sure if I can successfully post a rant on here but holy hell:

The North Carolina Department of Insurance received a dwelling insurance rate filing from the North Carolina Rate Bureau on Thursday, Aug.18. The Rate Bureau is seeking a statewide average increase of 42.6%, requesting 19.6% effective April 1, 2023, and a 19.2% increase effective April 1, 2024.

The rate filing follows the dwelling policy rate filing the Department of Insurance received from the Rate Bureau in December 2020, where the Rate Bureau requested an overall increase of 18.7%. That filing resulted in a settlement for an overall average rate increase of 7.6%.

The reality of this just hit me today when my homeowner’s renewed I did a triple take at how much my bill increased. This is insane. 42.6%??? For what? This is some massive fuckery.

Cliff notes: those of you in NC with mortgages, get ready for your escrow payments to go WAY up.

clt says down with taxes and the census!!

Who you think paying for the rebuild time and time again on the routinely flooded/hurricane/fire/tornado areas?

Good for them, although I am not sure where it will be in the following years…

clt says hell yeah! NASCAR going back to north wilkesboro

Lohan is a trainwreck and looks weird AF now.

Only 2 of the actresses really have strong careers at this point (though I don’t really have anything against Lacey Chabert).

This screams cash grab. Maybe Tina Fey can save it with a good script. Though what is there left to say about petty, superficial, backstabbing, ultra clique-ish high school girls? She kinda covered it all in the first one.

I know numerous companies took massive hits this past year due to inflation, the NCRB is slow to adapt. Insurance is extremely cheap here compared to most of the states north of us.

We are also in the same pool as the coastal area homeowners and other much higher risk types, which means average middle state folks are subsidizing insurance costs for bigass cottages on the coast.

I talked to a senior officer at my insurance company and she said that NC is “unique” and that was the nicest way to describe how poorly our insurance regulations are structured.

Definitley, we all keep that beach plan affloat because no one wants to touch it. I would be intrested to see how other states do it with high risk coastlines. I would imagine that Florida is a disaster.
