Have friends who saw Hendrix open for the Monkees in 1967 at the original Charlotte Coliseum. Definitely one of the strangest pairing of bands ever!

My brother’s first concert was the Hendrix/Monkees in the then Charlotte coliseum.

My room mate in college saw that concert! And he went to see Hendrix! He used to put the “Are You Experienced” album on at night to go to sleep with. He was cool.
