This is not me trying to defend Dale here, but I really believe that when they talk about stuff, getting someone hurt is always an understood bad thing. I don’t think when someone says they don’t care about someone else or whatever, they are saying they flat out don’t care about their physical well being. It’s just kind of understood.
I’ve worked with a lot of the nascar guys. I don’t follow the races, but I know that no one is a more unprofessional douche than Tony Stewart, Little E is a whiner and cusses up a storm. And Petty is truly the King, and a very humble, modest man.

Petty is a good point…the last of his kind. Kahne seems pretty humble…but when you’re saying people defending themselves and just being ‘competitive,’ how come basketball/football/every other type of competition ever, no one goes straight to the media blaming everyone other than themselves and fighting their rivals? That’s more than competitive spirit. It’s a complete lack of class. The difference is, in most competitive sports, history and coaching teaches and promotes sportsmanship. Nothing in NASCAR does such a thing.
I’m not sure this PROVES that he’s a douche. It does make a pretty strong argument for him being a douche, however.
You’d be a douche too if you knew that you’d never be as good as your fans think you are, even in the best equipment.
