Will be in attendance Saturday, along with Wilderness.

:eek:Well, that brightened the mood a bit! I hear he’s one of the best players in the state!

Pure point guard - loves to distribute

ā€œ5-11 Damier Pitts of Charlotte is getting strong attention from Clemson according to his coach. Pitts has offers from Virginia Tech and James Madison and is also hearing from Iowa State, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. Pitts averaged 15 points and 3 assists per game last seasonā€.

that guy is all about ACC. let it go…i guess we’ll see if we hit his list after sunday…

Now there is a shocker!

When will these kids realize the ACC will always recruit over them the next season. Ask Ish Smith about the PG Prosser is bringing in next year or ask Stitt who Clemson just signed how he feels about this kid being recruited before the ink dries on hid NLOI.

Man! My wife graduated from CCS. I can’t believe there is anyone of quality coming out of there. Wow! C’mon Damier! You know you want to be a Niner!

we gotta get the chant goin at the gameā€¦ā€˜we want pitts’

Was he actually in the house? I coudlnt’ see him or Wilderness from my seat, I had hoped to get a ā€œwe want Pittsā€ going during the warmups if he walked out with them, but I couldn’t see him.

I’m not sure if he was there.

Nice write-up on Pitt’s today in the Observer:

[QUOTE]MATTHEWS - They are the two best point guards in North Carolina.

Charlotte Christian’s Damier Pitts is ranked No. 5 overall in the class of 2008.

Pitts, 5-10, has offers from East Carolina, James Madison and Virginia Tech. He’s being recruited heavily by Charlotte, Iowa State, Tennessee and South Carolina, among others.

i think we need to lock up pitts fast

Chooses Marshall over offers from ECU, South Carolina, South Florida, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Wow. Does his dad coach at Marshall or something? Only way I could see him going there out of that group.

Im sure many people have said the same thing about our recruits. Maybe he just liked the coaches, campus, style of play, and opportunity for playing time. Plus, Marshall isnt exactly a little ol school no one has heard of.

:wow: They must have shown him the movie ā€œWe are Marshallā€ā€¦

They have some notoriety in football, but I can’t honestly ever think of their basketball team being worth anything. Plus, their fans don’t care about that sport. Worse than that, you have to live in WV. I think its quite a bit different than someone coming to Charlotte.

From Jeff Goodman…

Marshall coach Donnie Jones may have found the next Taurean Green.

Jones, the former Florida assistant who was crucial in Green’s development, received a commitment from 5-foot-10, 160-pound Damier Pitts out of Hargrave Military Academy (Va.).

Pitts is one of the most underrated floor leaders in the nation and also considered Oklahoma, South Florida and South Carolina.

ā€œI like the environment and the coaches,ā€ Pitts said after making his decision. ā€œIt’s a great fit for me and it’s the perfect style of play.ā€

ā€œCoach Jones told me I can come right in and make an impact.ā€

And this about Marshall from College Hoops Update:

There is some excitement stirring at Marshall with ex-Florida assistant Donnie Jones now at the helm. He has already recruited several talented players, but the big impact of the incoming talent won't be felt until 2008-09, when three transfers Brandon Powell (Florida), Chris Lutz (Purdue) and Tay Spann (Georgetown) - become eligible.

BTW, 4,500 showed up for ā€œThundering Herd Madnessā€ this past Friday, so someone’s interested in hoops in Huntington.

Probably not a fair comparison of starting PGs, but since Charlotte and Marshall have both played ODU this season…

DiJuan Harris vs. ODU: 12 points (3-6 FG / 1-1 3-PT / 5-6 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 TOs, 1 steal in 31 minutes

Damier Pitts vs. ODU: 7 points (3-5 FG / 1-3 3-PT / 0-1 FT), 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 TO, 3 steals in 36 minutes

BTW, not saying I’d want Pitts over Harris, though I would like to have Pitts in addition to Harris! Yes, that would be a good thing!!!
