Davidson gets TV... 49ers get _____
So the people running the program here don’t know how to do it and have sold the rights to a group of people who don’t know how to do it either, but are waiting by the phone for someone to tell them how to get the job done?
yeah thats what is going on:rolleyes:

I think the Observer has screwed us many times over the last 2 decades, but this thread is a joke. Blaming the Observer for our sorry TV package is dimwitted. Talk about whiny little biches.

Who blamed the Observer for our sorry TV package? I think they have been blamed for a lack of fans but the TV package is one of the responsibilities of the AD. Don’t you agree.
Buy a couple dozen nice slingshots, a couple barrels of lima beans and some camping gear. Make a new class entitled ā€œAdvanced Targeting Incorporating Physics and Forced Migration.ā€

Sixty percent of the male population at the school would sign up for a slot and that problem would go away very quickly.
Davidson already has it. Only they chose to discuss more the difference in effect of pitching wedge and driver. You have to take the prereq ā€œBaitingā€ though. It covers what type of bread crumbs work best for luring your target.

In some sense the lack of coverage may have been good the past two years. I am trying to forget those seasons every day…gah!

On a serious note, winning games will help this a lot, especially against quality opponents. I can’t buy into the ā€œcity and powers that be hate us…blah blah.ā€ Without a winning product on the floor it’s tough to get tv coverage, locally or nationally. This year offers us a chance to beat some quality opponents, the problem is we’re not sure what we’re going to get this season and it could be even more of a down year. It’s the same argument I hear about why aren’t we selling out Halton, winning fixes so many of these problems.

I agree.

its only winning to an extent. There are a lot of teams with 10K+ in the stands for a team that is not what we were 3 years ago.

How true. How true.

seriously…do you read the final 2 or 3 posts in a thread, or the ENTIRE thread???
pay attention for pete’s sake.

Metro, I know I saw a post where you referenced kissing BDD on her ***. I’m trying to get in touch with HP so he can send her your way after she leaves his house.

Good point. Why do so many people think the local newspaper should give us more media coverage, but the people we deal with to get us media coverage don’t get it done and slide by with hardly a mention?

I think the Observer has screwed us many times over the last 2 decades, but this thread is a joke. Blaming the Observer for our sorry TV package is dimwitted. Talk about whiny little biches.
No, its just the truth. No one said that the Observer was 100% to blame for our ****ty package but they deserve part of it. You can be mad at them or not, it doesn't matter, but the fact of the matter is that if we were given proper coverage back when we were doing well, we would have more fans. More fans equals more demand for our team and more demand equals more television broadcasts satifiying that demand.

Yes, winning games is the bottom line but this is a message board. Us saying we need to win more games isn’t going to do anything and it goes without saying that we need to win more games anyways. Since this is a message board, however, discussing the other smaller reasons why we have no TV games makes sense and is not dimwitted nor does it make us whiny little bitches.

I read your boards from time to time because we (ODU) had a good rivalry with you guys back in the Sunbelt days. You guys talk about the SoCon, but alot of you never even look at the CAA. Charlotte would be perfect there. For goodness sakes, you’re never going to be in the Big East or ACC !

Our basketball TV schedule hasn’t been released yet, but I would bet the CAA’s will be much, much better then the A-10… We even have a pretty good FOOTBALL TV package. Check us out sometime.

I’m sure a lot of us beg to differ about the BE but we are biased. Even trying to be unbiased, I still think we have a great shot, but who knows.

In bball, looking at the big picture I’d rather be in the A-10 than in CAA probably. No offense but I don’t think the CAA is going to keep all it’s recent bball success.

For football, I’d much rather start in SoCon. We’ll play App and them and then move on to 1A in 5-10 years.

No offense taken, but you made my point. Why so much interest in the SoCon. TSN has 6 CAA football schools in the Top 25 and 3 SoCon shools. Even the Coaches poll has 5 for the CAA and 3 for the SoCon.

And thats typical of most years.

On the basketball side, I would think that you guys would much prefer to be with VCU, Mason, Old Dominion, and Wilmington. I even look at the size of some of those A10 schools (with the exception being Temple and GW) and I wonder what the heck you guys are doing there.

there is not big interest in SoCon from us. I like the CAA, I’ve played at most of the campuses and they are legit. The CAA doesn’t solve our need, and that is 1A football.

Thats true in towns like Dayton Ohio and other towns where you don’t have UNC, Duke, Wake, and NC State within 2 hours of driving. The university is in a huge metro area in a state where college basketball is HUGE! Winning is a must for us to be successfull for our fan support to grow. It doesn’t make life easy but if you haven’t notice not much comes easy for us (wins and losses, fan support, tv coverage, quality opponents).

Huh? Cincinatti, Louisville, Kentucky, Xavier, Purdue, Butler and Indiana are within the same appx. driving time from Dayton as Charlotte is to Raleigh.
How many fans do we lose who drive to the triad than come to halton on a typical night? It seems to me that being in a huge metro area where college basketball is huge is a plus, not a negative.
While nothing comes easy for us, it is unfortunate that blaming our slide to mediocrity on everyone but ourselves is becoming easier.
