yeah. he was just ranked in the top 150 on rivals and the top 100 on espn.com. how many of your guys were ranked that high. yeah, he averaged 11 per game against great competition, playing with other good players. im sure your gonna brag about how prc averaged 20 or whatever he averaged per game as your counterarugument but trust me as someone who has seen prc play. the kid is not that good. one game he looks great, the next hes held scoreless for a half. ecu is their history has never signed someone the caliber of e victor nickerson. good luck on bowden being your next great player.

SJā¦I donāt know which of our guys will be the best on our team, but I guarantee 3 or 4 of them will be better than any one on YOUR team.

That class was in the late 90ās HCT when recruiting was magazine driven before the internet hit big. I did find a link a couple years ago to one sites after the fact that had old list of class rankings but I was never able to find it again. It happened. Dooley was a heck of a recruiter and thatās why he is the associate head coach at Kansas right now. We were in the final 3 for Josh Howard too. Stupidest thing we ever did was fire him before he had a chance to recruit in old CUSA.

The Songalia deal was known at the time and fans thought Lane Odom basically stole him for his father. When Odom wrote his book a few years back someone posted excerpts to clear it up. Point was we signed or had several major commits in the past. Honestly though other than Joyces the top 100 guys that came here were overated which is why I wouldnāt get to worked up over what ESPN or anyone said 2 years ago. I like to look at tangible things like how they actually did their Sr year which these recruiting rankings do not take into account at all. Do you really think players donāt improve or even digress/not develop that year too? Players stock drops and rises all the time.
yeah, we like rankings. thats because we like our coach bringing in highly ranked guys as opposed to bringing in juco rejects and cast offs from other programs(bowden). o and btw, we are currently listed with a few guys in the top fifty for the class of 2013. will we land them, maybe maybe not but at least recruits think enough of us to consider us unlike ecu who ususally has to fight off uncg, high point and several other powerhouse programs for their players.
actually recruitng rankings are a very accurate predictor of how well a program will succeed. while were on the topic of senior year accomplishments, nickerson lead his team to a state title in georgiaās biggest classification, despite one teammate being kicked off the team for breaking another teammateās nose at the begginning of the season(the other player was unable to compete as well) he was also the mvp of the state title game.
Niner55. We are on plenty as well, including several of the same guys like Anton Gill. The #1 player in the class of 2014 Andrew Wiggins listed us a month ago along with Duke. Doesnāt really mean jack at this point, nor does a recruiting top 100 ranking list made in 2009 that says a players good. Iāve seen some of the best recruits weāve ever got bomb and some with no D1 offers be solid. Heck pretty sure it was you that said on this board 2 years ago Wakefield Ellison was really good and a steal for us after seeing him, and ESPN gave him and 89. Worst player I have ever seen in a pirate uniform transfering to D2.
