It’s been a while since one of these was posted, so I’ll give it a shot.
Here is mine (assuming Spears doesn’t get his appeal, and has to sit out a year)…
pg - Gerrity / Harris
sg - Andersen / Coleman / Bowden / Barnett
sf - Wilderness / Dewhurst / Barnett
pf - Mack / Coley / Ngoundjo
c - Coley / Mack / Big Phil
Couple of notes… I think Ian will be our starting sg for the first few games of the year simply because he is a junior and knows the system, and seems to be improving at a good pace. I think by conference play, either Bowden or Coleman (I’m thinking Coleman) will emerge as a more dangerous scoring threat.
Also, it seemed like last year sometimes Mack played pf and Coley at c, and then some other games it was the other way around with Mack at c and Coley at pf… so I guess they are interchangable at those positions.
And another thing, I doubt we ever see Mack or Coley at sf, even though both can play it effectively. Wilderness and Dew should see all the minutes at the three spot.
even though i dont want to bench anybody in the starting lineup, i would like to see a more traditional starting with big phil at center, mack at power forward and coley at small forward. imagine the matchup problems that would create for teams.
I like Phil coming on the bench, starting with three forwards, first of all because An’Juan needs to start somewhere, and Coley and Mack have the skills and athleticism to take on other centers, i think Coley should be doing tip-offs, unless someone else on the team can clear Church. I just hope Mack isn’t hurt by his surgery, speaking of, has anyone heard much about his rehab?

nah but I saw him and some of the guys shooting around the other night. You couldnt tell the difference. He was hitting shots from all over and would do the run and stop jumper at the freethrow line. I’m not the least bit concerned as long as he doesnt do like a typical competitor and try to get back too quickly into practice etc. But hey, what guy on here hasnt tried something like that before?

We can always go to a non-traditional lineup with one of the point guards and Mack, Wilderness, Coley, and Jones. I know this is less likely to work without Bobby changing his strategy a little, but it could create some major mismatches in our favor and give us better defense. After all, Mack took as many 3 point shots last year as some of the other shooting guards in the country.
I’m not saying we “should”. I’m just saying we “could” in certain situations, even if only occasionally.
if Ian is our starting 2 gaurd, I won’t be thrilled. I like his energy as a 6th man though.
I’d rather see Dewhurst start at 2.

Dew has to get more cocky, not be so nervous. He has all the athletic ability in the world
