Don't call your coworker "sweet baby"....Ron Franklin fired

Ron Franklin was fired from ESPN, after 27 years, for calling his female coworker “sweet baby”. Normally I would say people shouldn’t be so sensitive. But in this case, Franklin has a history and probably should have learned. This is coming from a Ron Franklin fan. Saturday night games on ESPN, where he was the color commentator, was one of my favorite things.

If he made a sexist remark and then followed it up by calling her an asshole, he pretty much deserves to lose his job for being just plain stupid.

It probably had more to do with the context of the “sweet baby”, namely that he told her to run along and let the men make the decisions. Then he compounded his mistake. Not smart.

The guy was also old and past his prime. I watched the SC/Fla St bowl game and he was constantly confused with downs and distances, players names and even which conferences the schools were from. He kept saying Marcus Lattimore (pronouncing it “Lattimer”) was “all ACC” and that SC “won their division in the ACC”… stupid crap like that. What a dolt.

I would have done that just to piss off the 'Cock fans.

Yeah…they are a sensitive lot…sort of like Niner fans…lol :))

Getting old, and forgetting things, sucks. Just look at Dick Clark.

I didn’t think he was fired for the remark. I thought he was fired for not apologizing when called on it, & calling her an a55hole for being offended.

Franklin has filed a wrongful termination suit against ESPN.
