For those of you who don’t know, Doug A. Sweeney is leaving the hallowed grounds of UNC Charlotte in mid-July and has accepted a job at TOSU (The Ohio State University, for the uninitiated).
As someone who has known Doug since he walked on campus, and thought enough of him to having him in my wife’s wedding, I am going on record to say that he will be missed not only by our family, but the entire 49er family as a whole.
Doug, you have finally found your place in the world. Congrats on finding a new, exciting chapter in your life. All the best to you and Suzanne.

Who's Suzanne? :D Wow, I didn't know he was leaving.
Glad to hear Ohio St filled that coaching vacancy. Doug will make a fine coach. Good luck to you Doug and keep in touch.
Doug is one of the nicest people I have ever met, and also one of the biggest Niner fans around. He will be a tough person to replace in the Foundation office, but then so is everyone there.
Doug also has the right idea about this coming hoops season. When I dropped by yesterday to drop off my 49er club donation (I always like to do that in person to see those fine folks), the last thing he said to me was that “This isn’t the last time you’ll see me. I’ll be sure to come down for a game in Charlotte this season, and we can meet at the Final Four to cheer on the Niners.” I’ve got to appreciate that optimism!
Best of luck to Doug in his new venture close to his home, and good luck to Mike Hummer trying to find someone who can come close to filling Doug’s shoes.

Absolutely true. Good luck in Columbus, Doug!
Don’t enjoy those Saturday afternoons in the Horseshoe with 101,000 other nuts too much.
