Drink it in

I'm always amazed at how people just can't be happy with a W over a ranked team.
give it a rest buddy will ya? I'm always amazed at posters like you who defend mediocrity.

To all the Buzz Killingtons out there- whether it’s a sign of how far our program has fallen or not, just enjoy the win, it feels like its been forever since I’ve been this happy over a Niners win.
Not to beat a dead horse, but again, this shows how far the program has fallen in the last 5 years, that the simple act of beating a ranked team warrants a court rush.
We did that when we were good also.

Awesome game last night…well done, NN with the white out and the court rush. Between the atmosphere and having Eddie back, it felt like old times…i miss those days.

This is not a time to be having this discussion.

Saying we’re mediocre day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year can be stopped for just a bit to enjoy a hard fought win over a ranked team. Something many on this board haven’t had the fun of seeing or being a part of.

Bringing up the same crap that is flooded this board since the season started is ridiculous. There’s zero reason to be kill joys about it. Our mediocrity will still be here tomorrow and everyone can keep pitching a fit about it then. But for one freakin day shut up about how far we’ve fallen and let’s enjoy feeling like we used to feel.

for the record, I was positive about it.
I watched it on TV, it was nice to feel some excitement again. Halton looked good on TV as did the student section. I am with S9, absorb what happened last night and demand more.

rushing the court seemed to fit last night, it was a monkey off the back of sorts
But Jfelt’s cheerleading routine is tired.

That's what rushing is about. It's spontaneous. We were saying "No, no no, we're not going to" but it just happened.

There is no need to mention rushing before a game. Just let it happen if it happens.

Get hyped before the game, get hyped during the game, and celebrate once the game is won. But don’t discuss how to celebrate before a game is played. Especially when you’re the underdog. Never, ever, ever, ever do it.

Taboo.

Anyway, today really is a good day to be a Niner.

Hey, with our current record, let’em rush the court. It makes for good TV, and ESPN likes good TV… After the 1999 win vs Cincy , we rushed the court so hard I think some people were injured. ESPN came back to Halton a lot after that.

As is the ā€œwe suckā€ routine that is spouted here every day.

It would save everyone a lot of time to just stick

ā€œWe’ve fallen so far, we’re mediocre, I miss the good ole days, fire Lutzā€ in their signature so as to save the bandwidth of posting it over and over and over and over again.

I agree extreme positivity and negativity are tired.

I turned off all the avatars and sigs to speed up blackberry viewing, so I can’t comment on the sig stuff.

Does this mean my nostalgic ā€œgood old daysā€ post is further poisoning the board?

The key to the game was the junk defense Bobby used in the 2nd half. I am not a fan of junk defenses, but they can be very effective in spots and he did a great job of using one last night.

It did remind me of old-times. I was in Halton Saturday for Homecoming and even though we played well the atmosphere was depressing compared to what I experienced 98-02 (and the 2 games I went to in November of 04). Last night seemed like old times, now if we can just keep it up to finish out the season and then make a little noise in the conference tourney to build momentum for next season.

I’m excited about this win because it was a very good performance over a very good ranked team. We are headed in the right direction again, finally.

Look Meat, the moments over. You’re fastballs’ up, in the show they woulda ripped you. If he starts me off with the Hammer- I’m taking him downtown.

LET’S MAKE LIKE GRANT AND TAKE RICHMOND!

Short rest after a big win and on the road…I don’t like our chances. Winning this game after beating X, would surprise me more than beating X.

It’s defending mediocrity…you guys just celebrate the past (which is great,) but way too much when some of us weren’t even there to experience it, and expect us ā€œfall in lineā€
-It gets old…

Gotta agree with you there. And we’re 0-for on the road in the league, right?
We did that when we were good also.
I’ve personally been there at least 7 or 8 times where we have beat ranked teams and didnt rush the court. Seems like when I was there, rushing the court was reserved for top 5-10 teams. Between Memphis, Marquette, Louiseville, Cincy we use to beat a ranked team every year. And I actually didnt have a problem with it this year seeing how bad we are. But if you guys are happy with us sucking thats fine. But I have just as much right to be not fine with it, and stating it. Also the year we rushed the court aginst Cincy we were horrible, and i was at that game. To me thats the season where it all started going south for us.

Swept us last year and stole our homecoming game…time for revenge.

I've been worried about this too. Maybe that deliberate pace Richmond plays will finally play to our advantage.
