That official response makes a lot of sense - UNC-CH is spitting out tons of Chemical Engineers each yearâŚ
Based on the thought process in that response, youâd think we would get more than them. HmmmâŚ
The article mentioned an effort underway by âinfluencial state legislatorsâ to excempt UNC-CH and NC State from the current funding formula for âspecialâ attention. Every taxpayer in NC ought to absolutely outraged by this effort. This sounds an awful lot like when NC State wanted the state taxpayers to pay for a new âconference centerâ which in fact was no less than a TPC golf course with a resort class hotel attached! Fortunately when it got public, it smelled so bad it was pulled. Looks like they are at it again. The arrogance of this UNC-CH/ NC State bunch is no less astounding then their complete contempt for NC taxpayers. They are truely out of touch with realities of the people who pay their salaries. Dubois has no bridges to burn here -Itâs time to speak up and promote our cause very publicly, or continue to be content going with our hat in hand asking for alms every year.

You said it niner fan, Iâm the son of a UNC grad and lived in raleigh for 16 years and all you hear the scmucks around there talk about is state and carolina. Iâm convinced that half the middle-aged slubs would love to go back to their college days but the sad part is thay still think it is 1967, and no other state university is good except NC State and UNC-CH(and on a side note if they talked to some of the students at UNC-CH today they would probably puke). I would venture to say most of those involved in allocating funds never sniffed any of the research, they either go with their blind loyalties or outdated assumptions. If they want more funds going to nc state and unc-ch, heres an idea, RAISE IT YOURSELF, TIGHTWADS!
Itâd be nice if some State politicians around here had some spines and stood up for the university. The only one who does is currently being smeared.
