I come on this Board for the struggle, dysfunction and the loathing anxiety that is 49er BB. I come on this board to find out we have landed an ESPN top 10 Center but it turns out to be a 6’8" Martin Iti. I come on here to reinforce TRLeaders 10 basic facts about 49er BB. I come on this Board to see what Act of God or War has made us in the last 2 days of the recruiting period finish second to a big time recruit.

Always huh?? I want us to land this kid really bad. The part that made me worry was the part about the bond between himself and the Depaul coaches.
I’ve been extremely positive about Coach Major and the direction he has us going in.
I guess I’ve just been let down tremendously by potential recruits that diss us for a sorry BCS school. Especially ones that we can beat.

Always huh?? I want us to land this kid really bad. The part that made me worry was the part about the bond between himself and the Depaul coaches.
I’ve been extremely positive about Coach Major and the direction he has us going in.

I didn’t hear about his bond with the Depaul coaches. He is quoted as saying that about the Charlotte coaches.
He’ll announce this week. Possibly Wednesday.

Don’t worry Ruckus, I know you’re a big fan. You’re just usually on the pessimistic side. I should have said that instead of negative. Unfortunately you’re pessimism is usually justified. I feel pretty good about E Vic Nick though.

I feel good about this too. We’ve been on the kid really hard and I thought he was our most impt recruit coming into this fall. We simply have to get him. I think alot of us knew it would be down to us and Depaul and here’s our chance. I think its us. I hope its us. He would get alot of time here and would be a great get.
Good relationship with coaches generally wins out with recruits. That’s the reason I feel very good about our chances. Chicago is a great city, but nobody in Chicago cares about Depaul, they play way off campus, they’re a doormat in the BE and are only on television when they play upper tier BE teams, and their coach has never won an NCAA game. Obviously Major hasn’t either, but Purnell’s teams get exposed every season when they start playing legitimate competition.
No one squanders talent like Oliver Purnell.
I feel pretty good about E. Vic. Nick. We’ve clearly made him the priority of the 2011 class, and seeing as how he could potentially be a starter here next year on what looks on paper like it could be a solid squad. Like 2k said, I don’t really see what a clear back up plan would be. Nickerson seems to be the athletic slashing type SF that you can build an offense around if the right pieces fall in place. I feel like if we get him, our chances with Carter and/or Lewis increase too. Thorne, Williams, Nickerson, and Carter would be a very solid class, and we’d still be pretty set even without Carter.
