This is fantastic news!
Despite the stick we give him, Major has shown he can groom a big man (Mike Thorne).
Looks like the sky is the limit for this guy.
Welcome Mr. Izundu!

The ghost of Lefty speaks ;D

Very impressive. Love the left hand, length, athletic ability, touch, power finish.
I think heâs going to come in and have a Chris Braswell like impact as a freshman. He probably wonât be a star in year 1, but Iâm fully confident heâll be a major contributor.
i just got back from the victory christian vs. oak hill game and here is my assessment of izudnu. he is awesome. anybody who doesnt rank him as a solid four star player doesnt know what they are doing. great athlete, long arms, hustles and runs the floor. unofficially i had him at 6-7 for 12pts. 2 blocks(which were both awesome, he lebroned someone) and three dunks. good hands. his team was overmatched and his guards only fed him the ball once and he hit a contested turnaround jumper off the glass. went up against a 6â11" player going to ohio state and another kid who is 7â0" and i really believe he was the best big man. had an amazing putback dunk in traffic off a missed shot. i could go on and on about this kid but he is going to be special and probably sooner rather than later. great job signing this kid
For those that didnât watch live, itâs on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6dBoYTYiW8

The guards on his team did a pretty poor job trying to get him the ball.

His guards didnât get him the ball, Oak Hillâs length really bothered them. Gadsden struggled, however that was his first game with VC. Played better next game.

He had a nice sequence there, where he had a putback dunk that was impressive, a pretty nice alley oop dunk, and a charge drawn (though the call was a bit dubious I think) in the space of a minute or so. It was strange that his team wasnât trying harder to get him the ball, but thatâs high school basketball for you, big men are much more likely to get neglected.
they got him the ball more in the second game but i agree with that. i really was not a fan of his guards. i love his hustle. he is going to get a lot of dunks for us just beating his man up the floor.
Thank you for the report Ninerfan55!!
I am so stoked we have him coming in.
Games against Kennedy Charter is up as well
I am confused. Will he be here next year or the year after? I thought he was a junior but there is a note earlier in the thread that he reclassed from 2016 to 2015.
He re-classified to 2015. Heâll be with us next fall.
If he can add some muscle without losing agility, heâs likely to be really really good. His arms are long enough to grab the ball well over the reach of players that are similar in height, so he plays at a taller height than others on the court. Very impressive recruit, I look forward to seeing what he does at Charlotte.
Alternatively, if the NCAA actually gets serious about cleaning up the banging down low by post players, he wonât even have to add much muscle. I hope this happens either way.
