Ed and BP...how we going to replace them

I know every year someone steps up but they are the heart and sole of this team. I think we are on the verge of something really special here and I am really impressed how the two seniors have yet to take a night off. They both play hard every game. Hats off to both of them.

agreed. they play their asses off every single game. they will me very much missed after they leave

will be tough, definitley plav’s best game in the clutch only a few bad shots

These guys were great tonight, and are the soul of this team, but they should be…they’re the seniors.

We will be able to replace them. Remember, we have two very talented, experienced guys sitting down behind them this year (Alexander and Bennett)…They will step up, as will a 5th year senior point guard in Mitch, a 2nd year player in Leemire, and a senior SF EJ Drayton who is really starting to progress nicely in conference play. Next year isnt the year I’m worried about…Now the year after that…

Who do we have coming in next year/elibible? I know Bennett(sp?) and Alexander. Both those guys are supposed to have game. How about the others?

Other than 6’5’’ Alexander and 6’3’’ Bennett…Jerrel Lewis who is a redshirt freshman this year will be eligible. Also, the signees for next year are 6’7’’ Mitch Mullis (freshman) and two JC’s 6’5’’ Jerrell Jamison and 6’8’’ Antwon Coleman. We should, at the very least, be very deep.

Speaking of that.. did anyone watch the game on TV when they started talking about Preston Green and what a great recruiting tool he has become? They showed a picture of Plavich when he first got here as compared to now and there was a HUGE difference. They talked about Coleman and how he is a big fella and that one of the main reasons he chose Charlottw was our great strength/conditioning program.

They also kept showing Plav’s fiance… somebody buy that girl a green shirt.

:drink:

Have any of you been to a game or seen Da’angelo Alexander shoot 3’s? He nails just about every one of them with what appears to be little or no effort. He may not play D like Eddie, but he should make up for it with the 3.

Marcus Bennett can find holes to go through in a defense, the kid is sneaky.

Bennett is just down right nasty…and he can hit 3’s better then Alexander, trust me, i’ve played him. But both will be huge for u next year. Interesting to see what Baldwin/leemire/Lewis/Bennett, and who will play???Even if you moved one to the 2 spot, you still have the Jr college transfers, Alexander, EJ, Iti, Nance, possibly Curt, Mullis…We could have 3 practice teams next year

we need to introduce Iti to this great program...

And EJ too…

It’s going to be impossible to replace Plav and Eddie…but it’s feels pretty good to know Bennett and Alexander are waiting in the wings. Both will be ready to contribute immediately.

Our coaches do a TREMENDOUS job of keeping us stocked with talent. That’s why we always have 20 wins and make the tournament. We’re never re-building. (other than Curtis’s freshman year).

If you look at the team of Curtis’s frosh year, you look at it now, the only thing missing was that patented Lutz center. If an Iti or Nance is on that team it is not a re-building year.

No matter what is said on this board, Iti is a key component to our success this year, so is Nance.

I know he was a cancer but VG had a nice game yesterday(32). I got a funny feeling that we see them in the first round of the NCAA’s.

I agree 100%. Both players contributed a great deal to our win yesterday. Great job by both of them.

As several have stated, Iti needs to just spend a summer in Charlotte.
You won’t put on muscle mass during the season. You try to preserve it.

Regarding Iti, I believe Lutz mentioned early in the season that they backed off trying to bulk him up and decided to make him stronger, yet more agile - if that’s possible. He said that trying to add pounds last year didn’t really work.

He has no legs though. Squats would do him wonders. When he came here, he couldn’t squat 135.
