Espn remains biased never giving us any credit

I hope you are kidding and that people don’t think ESPN is out for us now.

Not ESPN as a whole, but there are certain commentators there who have never shown love for us. Digger Phelps for instance. I have never seen him say anything nice about us even when we were dancing regularly.

We are better than UMASS.

Brennan places us at #5 this week behind top 4 of Saint Louis, Butler, VCU, and La Salle. Sunday foe Temple at #6.

8. Charlotte. When Wednesday's edition of the Bubble Watch came out, Charlotte fans got after me a little bit for not including their 49ers. A few hours later, Charlotte lost its third straight … at home … to Dayton … 88-67. That's when the tweets stopped. (That's a working title for my novel, please don't steal it.)

He should really just stop lumping everyone in with Cpip.

 1. Saint Louis
 2. VCU
 3. Butler
 4. La Salle
 5. Temple
 6. Xavier
 7. UMass
 8. St. Joe’s
 9. Richmond
10. Charlotte. Speaking of disappointing seasons, or at least disappointing finishes, how about Charlotte? The 49ers were on the very far-flung fringes of the bubble conversation even a few weeks ago. Then they lost four in a row, including home games to Dayton and Temple and the worst, Saturday's 104-83 loss at St. Bonaventure, before an 89-87 overtime escape at Duquesne on Wednesday. The upshot is that while Charlotte won't be dancing, Alan Major definitely took a couple of major steps forward with this program this season, and you can't help but think the long-term trajectory is positive.
 1. Dayton
 2. St. Bona
 3. GW
 4. URI
 5. Duquesne
 6. Fordham

far fringes of the bubble? we were in or on the bubble not the far fringes of it.

Guess it depends on who you ask. Doesn’t really matter now though.

No, virtually all had us IN the tourney after the Butler game.
Guess it depends on who you ask. Doesn’t really matter now though.
ESPN is relying on those “efficiency” stats and that silly BPI, which hated Charlotte because the Niners won close games against bad teams and got blown out by good teams. If Major hadn’t played with lineups earlier in the season, probably would’ve been in more people’s brackets, but then again maybe the reserves don’t get as much experience that way either.

In hindsight, not sure how much playing with the roster was going on. Braswell still coming off the bench. Mayfield was too. Ingram still starting. Thorne playing time not much different from beginning to end of season. Clark was still getting more minutes than JT. Benkovic got more minutes at the end of the season.
