clt says maybe we will get a espnu logo thing now.

So how is ESPN going to make our campus look like Chapel Hell’s? ;D

Get CHP in each shot?

Anyone see this or have a vid link to it? I flipped over after 11:00 last night to the U but just caught the tail end of it.

Bum. Fluffy gets even with Ron Rivera and UNCC campus. Tonight at 10 pm on Fuse.

The spring blitz thing was dumb as hell. He was doing QB drills with our wide outs and DBs. It was a waste of time.

The Fluffy Breaks Even episode wasn’t bad, and showed plenty of great shots of our stadium, but they never once mentioned the name “UNC Charlotte” or the fact that it was a college. You saw the name Charlotte and the 49ers logo everywhere, but if you didn’t specifically know, you’d think it was just some sort of practice facility or a municipal stadium.

clt says we missed a marketing opportunity?

THAT, my friend, is show biz. An entire movie, Masterminds (maybe to be released soon), a comedy based on the Loomis-Fargo robbery that occurred in the Charlotte/Gastonia area some years ago, was almost entirely filmed in Asheville, when they could have used the actual area in which the actual events occurred. In any event, I think the Charlotte/Gastonia area was the “setting” for the movie, so there is that.

On a related note, I’m sure the people in the movie will be a bunch of dolts with fake southern accents. That’s a totally different issue for another time and place.

I get that sort of thing, but this was a little bit different in that it was a reality show. We weren’t just the filming location where we stood in for somewhere else. They clearly said/showed they were in Charlotte and mentioned Coach Rivera and the Panthers often. When it came time to come to campus, they just said, “Coach Rivera gave us an address where to go” and they were on our field.

And you’re right about the dolts with the Southern accents. I’m wondering if this movie will ever see the light of day. It was supposed to come out last year, but the studio went bankrupt, and all of their future projects were taken as part of that. As far as I know, it’s completely finished, they’re just waiting to release.
