ETSU's planned stadium is a ripoff of The Rich

As NinerNational said, it looks like they went so far as to just edit our renderings.

I’m more than a little offended by this. What’s the story from our AD? Did we know our stadium could/would be copied?

It seriously takes away from our brand if they are allowed to build this. I’d sue, unless we went into our design/build phase agreeing to (god I hope not) or knowing this could happen.

If I had to guess, I’d think we allowed Jenkins-Peer to sell the design to ETSU.

That would be my guess too. Doing so would probably greatly reduce the design fees.

So glad we shoot for the stars like a SoCon school.

How are they funding this?

Sell… Sell… Sorry not to be a Nazi but that drives me crazy. Sale is a noun. Sell is a verb.

Sieg Heil! LOL!

Imitation is the sincerest form of a complement. There IS an uncanny resemblance!

This doesn’t “offend” me, though I would have preferred The Rich had remained unique.

This makes me angry. Get your own stadium design!

That is a damn fine setting.

Scoreboard says 10k attendance, so at least it’s not going to be identical.

If we ever play there it will be like a home game for us. OK.

if the same architects did both, and they DIDN’T have our permission or some sort of deal, then we have a law suit would be my guess. the resemblance is NOT a “mere coincidence”!

hell. even if they are DIFFERENT architects!

but my panties aren’t in a wad in any event.

Never going to play there, so no problem.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery. I view this as a compliment.

clt doesn’t see nuh, huh guy. The ETSU mega fan who attends games with self promoting signage.

Apparently THIS is the new design for ETSU’s stadium:

Compare to us:

Apparently we were an example for them,

I have to agree with the assessment that end zone seating sucks if you aren’t selling out the stadium. Of course the design of ours being in-ground and needing 15,000 seats and being unable to dig deeper; pretty much mandated we have end zone seating. We need to move the walk-up students out there pronto.

When you use some of the most available, inexpensive materials to construct your buildings, you’re hardly unique and you better be ready for buildings to have some resemblances to yours.
