This is exactly the kind of thinking that got us in trouble. It was obvious the team thought they could just sleepwalk and beat UTSA, Rice, etc.
I have watched FAU play large parts of about 6 games this year. They do NOT suck.

I get that we are a bad team and shouldnât overlook anyone, but are you seriously arguing a 7-13 team does not suck? Come on, dog.
Move that goalpost closer and closer!
Why even lend them a thread of credit? They are brutal. 7-13. 250 rpi on statsheet.com
Itâs like you are already doing the âavg fan doesnât know how good fau isâ
A typical FAU game starts with Bertone going off on the other team for upwards of late into the 2nd half, when the other team finally realizes that this guy can play and weâd better do something about him. FAU has had a lot of halftime leads that they have lost once the other team adjusted, because the remainder of FAUâs team are primarily role players.
So we might need our coach to make adjustments to win this game? crapâŚ
Is this not the saddest attempt at marketing ever? Can we not just wear green in Halton?
Nothing says home court advantage like making our opponents from a beach town play in a beach environment!
Honestly, Iâm for ANY attempt to make attending the game more interesting. I will be wearing my beach shirt.

They seriously saidâŚSunscreen?
âYeah, those Cameron Crazies in Durham may make Duke a hostile environment but you ainât seen nothing til you play a game in Halton Arena. Their students actually bring sunscreen to the game.â

Itâs like you are already doing the âavg fan doesnât know how good fau isâ
No, itâs not like Iâm doing that, though you keep making those assumptions. You want me to be the ultimate apologist for the administration/coaches because I donât agree with your poisonous crusade, but thatâs not reality. I think itâs pretty clear this team is playing terribly and itâs also becoming clear that Majorâs teams have a consistent pattern of disruption and late season collapses (even if itâs coming earlier this time around).
FAU is not very good. They are better than Rice though, who I donât think could beat Harvard even on a good night. The Niners canât sleepwalk through this game and win, or even come within a basket of winning like they did versus Rice (but not UTSA, which is even worse). FAU at home is a tougher game than Rice on the road, but itâs one our team should be good enough to win. But this season has made it pretty clear that our team is capable of losing to really bad teams. Right now the Niners are playing like one of the worst teams in Div. 1. I think theyâre capable of playing like a top 50 team based on earlier season results, but that would require consistency, focus, teamwork, and adjustments that are not occurring.
GeezâŚCoach isnât getting wellwishers texts any moreâŚSad!..aND THERE IS SOMETHING JUST A LITTLE BIT IRONIC ABOUT cHERRY TALKING ABOUT PLAYING GREAT DEFENSE.

I have watched FAU play large parts of about 6 games this year. They do NOT suck. They have some significant flaws that should be familiar to 49er fans, and it leads to them losing games that they often have leads in.
