December, 2008: Hall has a good motor that runs non-stop. I like his intensity level and his attitude; he plays with a fire, is a good teammate, and tries to bring it every play, but he is extremely hard on himself and frustrates easily. He has decent skill level and handles the ball well enough to push it up the floor after a rebound. He is very active around the basket, crashes the boards hard on both ends and consistently produced double digit rebounding games. He had trouble finishing off plays inside, especially against players with more size. He doesn't back down from a defensive challenge and has a lot of fight in him. He was inconsistent with his jump shot and made a poor percentage of his attempts. September, 2008: Ferrakohn Hall was ineligible for most of his junior season after transferring last year to White Station High School. Thus, playing for the Memphis YOMCA travel team during the past spring and summer has been his primary proving ground. When he performs as a power forward and ulitizes his athletic talents in the paint, Hall is far more impressive as a player. However, he has been quoted as saying that "I feel that I am one of the most versatile players in the class, and can do anything on the court". This includes bringing the ball up the court, and shooting from the perimeter, which most definitely are not close to being the stronger parts of his game. He even compares himself to Tayshaun Prince. However, that is not the case, at least at the present time. As a result, because of his penchant for drifting out to the perimeter, and the resultant lack of production, his stock has been falling of late. Hall is a superb athlete, and has the ability to slash to the hoop, and consistently make mid-range shots. He is long and lanky, can really run the floor, and is an effective rebounder when he plays as a four man. However, he now lacks the focus to do this consistently. Hall needs to be motivated to play at the power forward position, and to work on strengthening his body, and becoming physically tougher. He has been plagued by nagging injuries during much of his career, and adding strength could help him overcome these adversities. Hall participated in many national events this past July, including the LeBron James Skills Academy, the USA Festival, the Peach Jam Tournament, the 17-Under Super Showcase, and the AAU Junior National Tournament. He was rated overall as a High Major-Minus college prospect based upon his summer performances. He is presently #94 in the ESPNU 100 2009 rankings. He should consider attending a good mid-major college program unless to makes the commitment to work to become the best that he can be as a power forward. November, 2007: Hall is one of the outstanding big men in the Class of 2009 that represents the Volunteer state. Good athlete who can shoot from the outside and has good feet and hands. His game will grow immensely when he adds strength to help complete the tough inside work required from his position. Hall is a long defender who can block shots but needs to put more effort into the rebounding portion of his position. He has made the move from the private school ranks and will play for perennial city power White Station. His transfer will not allow him to be eligible until towards the end of the season.
