We ran into a better team
We gave up too many big plays.
We have to figure out how we can throw the ball down the field
In our secondary, we have to figure out a way to keep the ball in front of us.
We have to make sure weâre keeping our eyes in the right place and looking at the right things.
If Lambert was a golf coach his advice would be âyou just have to find a way to get the ball in the holeâ. No wonder our players seem lost on the field.
Joe, I think you are being too analytical⌠The new QB and RB both got a lot of reps today. They played hard. Everyone else has already given up on this team.
Terrible coach, terrible AD, Chancellor who doesnât care about sports success. Biggest cheaters of all time get off free. Could it be any worse right now?
At this point there should be no one that expects Lambert to be the coach after this season. He seems to be a great guy and built this program from scratch. Kudos to him for that. Now it is time for him and his staff to move on.
Unfortunately, there may very well be TWO persons that still want him as coach. Judy and Chapel Hill Phil. Phil is probably still celebrating the tarholes not being punished and Judy is too tied up with volleyball, womenâs golf, the upcoming womenâs basketball season, and long lunches.

Pretty sad state for 49er Athletics right now.
That its pretty unfair. Judy also is concerned with softball.

Lambert should be remembered fondly as the father of our program, but I donât know how that happens at this point. We will fire him, never see him again, and all the good things he did will be forgotten. Bobby Lutz all over again. It is a cruel business. Well, except for the $600k paycheck.
It will not be Bobby all over again. Bobby is an alum and the all time winningest coach. He will be welcomed back with open arms as soon as we change out to real leadership in the AD. The ONLY thing stopping this is a toxic AD.
Brad laid the foundation of the program. He should be released at the end of the season with a thanks for your service and a nod. It will take time but some day he will walk back into The Rich and receive a warm welcome for the foundation he built.
I went to our game there a few years ago. They have a very nice home side that would look great anywhere. Then they have a shitpile of old concrete on the other side, so itâs not all it could be.

You are both DOBA⌠Some people fail to realize you can be both thankful and respectful while acknowledging the time for a coaching change is upon us. Firing a guy and remembering his name fondly arenât mutually exclusive.

Yep. Denny Crum is a great example. Although he won 2 National Championships at Louisville, he was forced out in the early 2000s. We helped, defeating Louisville 3 times his final season.
John Fox and Jake Delhomme were were similar examples. Some people thought of Bobby Lutz the same way too.
