Fire Ron Sanchez

Does Sanchez still have the full support of Hill if he losses out and 2 of the 3 of Young, Williams, Garcia hit the transfer portal. IMO if that happens Hill must then make a move or talk to these players and implement some changes ( probably on offense) to pacify the mutiny. If I am Hill I don’t let players dictate and either take care of Sanchez and go another direction or be forced to sit back and watch the program continue to burn to the ground for another year. Either way if that scenario happens Hill takes a big hit on his resume.

Started following in 1986. Cannot describe the joy of following this team’s success back then. It started with Dinkins and William’s (Henry). It can return with Dinkins and William’s (Brice).

If we keep our players next year, we are easily top 2 in C-USA. Our return to the top is critical to conference realignment. Time is of the essence. Other conferences want us but only if we are winning and on our way back up.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Sanchez will get it done in the long run or that I haven’t been disappointed. Just saying if you look at Moser’s record in it’s entirety, it supports giving Sanchez more time.

And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that I wouldn’t have fired Moser during those down years either. There’s not a lot of logic to my thinking.

Getting beat by by Belmont Abbey, Appy, and ECU destroys logical thought processes in any fandom.

I’m not judging Sanchez this season. This covid year affects people in different ways . Some handle it well while others do not . No fans, wired practices, chaos in scheduling, health anxieties, etc. No way you can assume it doesn’t matter. We have talent which I believe you all agree but my question is how do these kids cope with all these distractions? Just maybe we are the unlucky recipients of mentally fragile players ,through no fault of the coaches , that with a normal year would do well. Maybe the coaches are at some responsibility for our poor performances and just maybe they could have done things differently. I for one still have confidence ( if Young and Williams stay with the addition of the Egyptian center) that we will be fine. Even in bad times, the amount of posts on ninernation reflects the caring attitude of all our fans good or bad and for that I’m thankful

We always have an excuse why we didn’t have a good year.

I don’t see any viable excuse for this season. I’m sure covid has made it a bit difficult but the impact is no where near as big as it was with football.

Not at all sure Covid situation has impacted us any more than other teams. Let’s not be like the Holes and whine about our adversity while never acknowledging that others have the same problems.

Now now s9er we are the only program dealing with these covid issues. Everyone else has fans, regular schedules, etc.

I thought I made my point but obviously some of you don’t agree. It’s been a strange season ( Duke and tarholes)and I’m sure we can find other surprises. Sanchez might not be the right fit but IMO we don’t know yet. What’s going on behind closed doors and the mindset of each one in the program is still a mystery. I say let’s stop some of this negativity ( you know they read these posts) and let this season play out before assigning blame to what has been a turbulent year for everybody.

I don’t disagree that things may get better, but complacency births and breeds the last couple of decades with Niner basketball. Without pointing out possible problems and concerns from fan bases, things never change due to assumed acceptance of the results. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me 1000 more times and shame on me for not speaking up. This type of forum is what makes the fan base such a powerful tool for excellence. We can give accolades when things go well, and in turn, we can display our disgust when things don’t go well. I truly hope that Ron is our savior next year (because he sure isn’t this year), however he and the AD staff need to know what the fan base thinks and expects. Nothing more; nothing less.

Having an overall losing record to ECU and App doesnt cut it. Losing to a D2 program - pandemic or not isnt acceptable. We should have been able to beat them with half a squad and no coach.

I don’t think anyone is saying we should have been some dominant juggernaut this year - but what we are asking for isn’t something crazy to ask for even given the challenges.

The key for me this year will be the transfers, if any. That more than any single game outcome. This has been a truly weird season. Let’s wait and see.

Yep, if we lose any of our main young contributors, Sanchez is done here. Not done in a he’s fired way, but done in a he will never be successful way.

Bobby->Major->Price->Sanchez
S9er stats speak.
Accept what is tangible/objective since Lutz fired for 19 wins and 75 RPI.
If we won 25 games today, produce an NBA lottery pick, and make the Sweet 16…does Mike Hill celebrate or sweat?
Fair question.

Cannot we just agree to fire somebody? Now is no time to point fingers at others …, CLT!

Sanchez isn’t going anywhere. Hopefully the better players don’t either. I guess he gets a pass because of the strangeness of the year but I’m tired of this crap.
